Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Review BOQ, MEP drawings, specifications and material requirements for procurement planning.

- Prepare and maintain Material Procurement Schedule (MPS) as per project execution requirements.

- Source reliable vendors and suppliers for Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing and ELV materials.

- Float RFQs/Enquiries and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers.

- Compare quotations and prepare Comparative Statements (CS).

- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedule, warranty and other commercial terms.

- Prepare Purchase Orders (PO) and coordinate with vendors for timely material delivery.

- Coordinate with Project/Site, Design, QA/QC, Stores and Accounts teams.

- Ensure procurement is done as per approved makes, specifications and project standards.

- Follow up with vendors for manufacturing, dispatch and delivery status.

- Maintain vendor database, quotation records, PO tracker and procurement status reports.

- Verify material availability and lead times to avoid project delays.

- Coordinate for material approvals / technical submittals wherever required.





- Assist in identifying alternative materials/vendors to optimize project cost.

- Monitor material cost against budget/BOQ rates.

- Coordinate with stores for material receipt and resolve shortages/damages/quality issues with suppliers.

- Maintain proper procurement documentation and records.

MEP Materials Knowledge

Electrical:

- Cables, wires, DBs, panels, conduits, cable trays

- Switches, sockets, lighting fixtures

- Earthing materials, cable glands, lugs and accessories

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of MEP materials and procurement process

- Good knowledge of BOQ, specifications and material take-off

- Vendor development and negotiation skills

- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office

- Ability to prepare Comparative Statements, Purchase Orders and Procurement Trackers

- Good communication and coordination skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects and urgent procurement requirements

- Knowledge of market rates and MEP brands will be an advantage.
