Description Autodesk is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of AI-powered tools and platforms for Cloud and Desktop applications, focusing on intelligent automation and engineering productivity solutions.

Experience

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering tooling and developing solutions for the organization

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

- Design and architect services powering AI-based tools and platforms
- Build intelligent platform capabilities that enhance software quality, engineering productivity, and developer workflows
- Design and integrate AI-powered workflows using LLMs, AI agents, and modern AI frameworks
- Develop services that seamlessly integrate with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define technical roadmaps and platform strategy
- Drive engineering excellence through reusable platform components, automation, and contemporary software engineering practices
- Mentor engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams

- In-person onboarding and/or in-person ID verification may be required

Nice To Have

- Experience building AI-powered engineering productivity platforms
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, and AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar technologies
- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), prompt engineering, vector databases, and AI system design
- Experience designing AI-enabled services and integrating AI capabilities into quality engineering workflows
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or similar platforms
- Understanding of AI observability, evaluation, governance, and responsible AI practices
- Experience working in Agile environments using modern planning, collaboration, and engineering management tools
