JOB SUMMARY
Winmore Academy, Jakkur, is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and academically driven Primary Coordinator to lead and oversee the academic functioning of the Primary School.
The Primary Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring effective curriculum implementation, maintaining high academic standards, mentoring and monitoring teachers, tracking student progress, coordinating assessments, and ensuring smooth communication between teachers, students, parents, and school leadership.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication, sound knowledge of the CBSE curriculum, effective team-management skills, and a student-centric approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum
- Lead and monitor the overall academic functioning of the Primary Section.
- Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum and school academic policies.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor academic plans, annual planners, lesson plans, and curriculum schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus as per the academic calendar.
- Monitor teaching-learning practices and ensure learning outcomes are achieved.
- Introduce and encourage activity-based, experiential, collaborative, and child-centric learning methodologies.
- Review academic resources, worksheets, lesson plans, teaching aids, and classroom activities.
- Identify academic gaps and implement corrective and improvement measures.
1. Teacher Management & Mentoring
- Supervise, guide, mentor, and support Primary teachers in their day-to-day academic responsibilities.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor lesson plans, planners, notebooks, assessments, and academic documentation.
- Conduct regular Primary team meetings and academic reviews.
- Support new teachers during induction and orientation.
- Identify training requirements and recommend professional development programmes.
- Assist the Principal in teacher performance reviews and appraisals.
- Encourage collaboration and sharing of best teaching practices among teachers.
1. Student Academic Progress
- Monitor the academic progress and learning outcomes of students across the Primary Section.
- Analyse assessment results and identify students requiring additional academic support.
- Coordinate remedial and enrichment programmes wherever required.
- Monitor student attendance, discipline, participation, and overall classroom engagement.
- Work closely with teachers to address individual learning needs.
- Promote a positive, safe, inclusive,
and nurturing learning environment.
1. Assessments & Examinations
- Coordinate periodic tests, examinations, assessments, projects, and other evaluation processes.
- Prepare and monitor assessment schedules in coordination with the academic team.
- Ensure question papers, worksheets, answer scripts, assessment records, and result documentation are maintained properly.
- Monitor timely correction and submission of assessment records.
- Analyse results and prepare academic performance reports.
- Coordinate result preparation, report cards, PTMs, and academic reviews.
- Ensure examination procedures and documentation are followed as per school policies.
1. Parent Communication
- Coordinate and support Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address academic concerns raised by parents professionally and promptly.
- Maintain effective communication between parents, teachers, and school leadership.
- Monitor follow-up actions arising from parent concerns.
- Support parent orientations, workshops, academic interactions, and school initiatives.
1. Co-Curricular & School Activities
- Coordinate Primary-level assemblies, competitions, celebrations, exhibitions, field trips, workshops, and special events.
- Ensure teachers and students are adequately prepared for academic and co-curricular programmes.
- Coordinate with Sports, Performing Arts, Activity, and other departments for Primary programmes.
- Encourage students' participation in competitions and school activities.
1. Discipline, Safety & Student Well-Being
- Ensure adherence to school discipline and student conduct policies.
- Monitor classroom discipline and student behaviour.
- Ensure teachers follow all child-safety, safeguarding, POCSO, and school safety protocols.
- Immediately escalate serious student welfare, behavioural, or safety concerns to the Principal.
- Promote an emotionally safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace for students.
1. Academic Documentation & MIS
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation for the Primary Section.
- Monitor timely updating of the school's ERP/MIS and other academic systems.
- Prepare periodic academic reports and MIS reports for the Principal and management.
- Maintain records of lesson plans, assessments, classroom observations, teacher meetings, student performance, and academic interventions.
- Ensure all academic documentation is completed within prescribed timelines.
1. Coordination with School Leadership
- Work closely with the Principal and Vice Principal in implementing academic policies and school initiatives.
- Provide regular updates on academic progress, teacher performance, student concerns, and operational matters.
- Assist the school leadership in implementing new academic initiatives and improvement programmes.
- Coordinate with HR and administration on staff-related academic requirements when necessary.
- Take responsibility for the smooth functioning of the Primary Section in the absence of the Principal/VP, as assigned.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education / relevant subject.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Master's degree / M.Ed. will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and Primary-level pedagogy.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a reputed CBSE school.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an academic coordination / leadership role preferred.
- Experience handling Primary classes and managing a team of teachers is essential.

WORKING EXPECTATIONS The Primary Coordinator is expected to demonstrate strong ownership, leadership, confidentiality, professionalism, punctuality, and accountability, and work collaboratively with the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers, students, parents, and administrative teams to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Primary School.
