Designation: Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

- Good understanding of power electronics & electrical fundamentals.

- Design multi-layer PCBs for power electronics applications including AC-DC/DC-DC converters, inverters, motor drives, and battery management systems (BMS).

- Shall be able to make the electronics hardware BOM as per the requirement of the mechatronic system.

- Shall know the alternate ways of doing things, to reduce hardware costs, reduce hardware size, etc.

- Good knowledge of power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs), gate drivers, magnetics, and their suitability for specific power electronics applications.

- Positive knowledge about microcontrollers, motor/actuator drivers and peripheral circuitry, and their suitability with the application.

- Candidate shall be able to work on microcontroller and peripheral circuitry like SPI, UART, I2C, ADC, reset, hardware watchdogs, external memory interfaces like RAM, ROM.

- Candidate shall be able to understand microcontroller datasheets and figure out various PAD and resistor settings for GPIO, ADC, DAC, TIMER, communication signals, PLL to help the software development team.

- Design of PCBs as per the requirements, including schematic capture, layout, stack-up, and component selection (MOSFETs, IGBTs, gate drivers, magnetics, capacitors).

- Perform current-carrying capacity, trace width, and copper thickness calculations for high-power layouts.





- Design and optimize PCB stack-ups for high-voltage isolation, creepage, and clearance requirements per IPC and safety standards.

- Ensure designs comply with IPC-2221, IPC-6012, UL, and relevant safety/EMI standards (CE, FCC, etc.).

- Generate and review Gerber files, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.

- Support prototypes bring-up, debugging, and design validation testing (power, thermal, EMI).

Skills and Experience Required:

- Candidate shall have hands-on experience in schematic and PCB layout generation in KiCad and/or other PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics PADS/Xpedition) Added advantage if candidate has experience designing PCB layouts per EMI/EMC/UL guidelines.

- Candidate shall have experience in circuit simulation (SPICE or equivalent) for power electronics circuits in any tool.

- Added advantage with PCB design experience for automotive or other complex mechatronic power electronics systems.

- Candidate shall have experience around electronic product manufacturing like SMD, THT component soldering, HAT, in circuit tester etc.

- Candidate shall have hands on experience in operating instruments like Automated DC/AC Power supply, Oscilloscopes, DMM, Frequency generators, Arbitrary waveform generators added advantage if worked on Data Acquisition systems.
