Job Summary

Avron Hospital is looking for an experienced and qualified Pharmacy Head to lead and manage the hospital pharmacy operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, safe storage, dispensing, and proper management of medicines while maintaining compliance with applicable pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies.

The ideal candidate should have robust leadership skills, sound knowledge of hospital pharmacy management, inventory control, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy.
- Ensure timely availability and uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical consumables.
- Supervise pharmacy staff and allocate duties effectively.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medicines to patients as per authorized prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for correct medication, dosage, frequency, and duration before dispensing.
- Ensure proper labeling and instructions are provided with dispensed medicines.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pharmacy operations.
- Ensure proper coordination between Pharmacy, Doctors, Nursing, Purchase, Stores, and Accounts departments.

Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure availability of essential medicines.
- Monitor stock receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
- Implement proper inventory control systems to minimize expiry, wastage, and stock-outs.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely removal of expired or damaged medicines.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable Drug & Pharmacy laws, hospital policies, NABH standards, and other regulatory requirements.




- Maintain proper records for controlled drugs, narcotics, and high-alert medications as applicable.
- Ensure valid licenses, registrations, and statutory documents related to pharmacy operations are maintained.
- Coordinate during internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of pharmacy transactions.

Medication Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medicines as per authorized prescriptions.
- Implement medication safety practices to minimize medication errors.
- Monitor proper handling of look-alike/sound-alike medicines and high-risk medications.
- Promote rational and safe use of medicines.
- Report and investigate medication-related incidents where required.
- Support hospital quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor pharmacy purchase costs, consumption, and wastage.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Accounts departments for vendor management and payment processes.
- Review pharmacy-related MIS reports and submit regular reports to management.
- Assist in budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure procurement from approved suppliers.

Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate pharmacy staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training programs.
- Ensure adherence to duty rosters, attendance, and departmental discipline.
- Promote teamwork,



professionalism, and continuous improvement within the pharmacy department.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) or Hospital Pharmacy Management will be an added advantage.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Registered Pharmacist with a valid license to practice.

Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in hospital pharmacy operations.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy management, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and hospital pharmacy operations.
- Good understanding of Drug & Pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Inventory management and procurement skills.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and medication safety practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and pharmacy management software/ERP.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.

- Zero stock-outs of essential medicines.
- Reduction in medicine expiry and wastage.
- Accurate inventory records and regular reconciliation.
- Compliance with statutory and hospital pharmacy requirements.
- Improvement in medication safety and dispensing accuracy.
- Effective team performance and staff productivity.

Salary Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
