– OT TECHNICIANJob Purpose To support the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of the Operation Theatre by preparing the OT, equipment, instruments, and supplies; assisting doctors and nurses during procedures; and maintaining strict standards of infection control, sterilization, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the OT before scheduled procedures, ensuring all required instruments, equipment, consumables, and emergency supplies are available.

- Assist doctors, surgeons, and nursing staff during OT procedures as required.

- Handle and arrange surgical instruments and OT equipment appropriately.

- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, packing, and storage of surgical instruments.

- Maintain OT cleanliness, hygiene, and infection-control standards at all times.

- Check the functioning and availability of OT equipment before procedures and report any malfunction immediately.

- Maintain adequate stock of OT consumables, surgical supplies, and other required materials.

- Assist in maintaining OT registers, sterilization records, equipment checklists, and other required documentation.

- Follow proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal procedures as per hospital protocols.

- Ensure proper preparation and turnover of the OT between procedures.

- Assist with safe patient positioning, transfer, and movement within the OT under the direction of clinical staff.

- Follow all hospital policies, SOPs, infection-control protocols, and safety guidelines.

- Coordinate with nursing, housekeeping, pharmacy, and other departments for smooth OT operations.





- Immediately report any equipment issue, shortage, contamination, safety concern, or incident to the concerned senior.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate professional and respectful behaviour with patients and staff.

- Perform any other OT-related duties assigned by the Centre Head, Clinical Head, or OT In-charge.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma/Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent qualification.

- Relevant experience in an OT, hospital, surgical centre, or IVF centre preferred.

- Basic knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization, infection control, and OT procedures.

- Knowledge of biomedical waste management and OT safety protocols.
