About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on NPD & Regulatory Affairs professional to join our team and take ownership of product development for our upcoming health, wellness and sports nutrition portfolio.

The role will work closely with NIFTEM, ingredient suppliers, OEM/ODM partners, contract manufacturers and internal management to develop products from concept to commercialisation.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & R&D;

- Develop and evaluate formulations for products such as clear protein beverages/powders, protein hydration products and protein bars.
- Research ingredients, functionality, dosage, compatibility, taste and stability.
- Prepare formulation briefs and coordinate product trials.
- Evaluate samples/prototypes and recommend improvements in taste, texture, solubility, nutrition, stability and cost.
- Maintain formulation versions, trial reports, specifications and technical documentation.
- Support pilot trials, scale-up and commercialisation.

Regulatory Affairs

- Handle regulatory assessment of new products and ingredients, primarily under FSSAI requirements.
- Review product category/classification, ingredient permissibility, dosage, nutritional declarations and claims.
- Review and coordinate product labels, packaging information and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate with external regulatory consultants/labs wherever specialised support is required.
- Keep track of relevant changes in FSSAI regulations and food/nutraceutical compliance requirements.

Supplier & Project Coordination

- Evaluate technical documents such as TDS, COA, specifications and supporting documents from ingredient suppliers.
- Coordinate with ingredient suppliers,



OEM/ODM companies and contract manufacturers.
- Maintain a clear tracker for samples, formulations, trials, testing, approvals and timelines.
- Support management in technical evaluation and selection of suppliers/manufacturing partners.

Essential Qualification
- B.Tech / M.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Nutraceuticals, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in NPD, R&D;, formulation, food technology or nutraceutical product development.
- Good working knowledge of FSSAI regulations and food/nutraceutical regulatory requirements.
- Solid understanding of ingredients, formulation and product development.
- Good documentation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets and MS Office.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple external partners.

Preferred
- Experience in sports nutrition, functional foods, nutraceuticals, protein products, beverages, powders, bars or supplements.
- Experience working with OEM/ODM or contract manufacturers.
- Exposure to product trials, sensory evaluation, stability testing and scale-up.
- Experience with FSSAI documentation / FoSCoS or regulatory consulting.
- Candidates who have worked on protein, hydration, functional beverage or health & wellness products will be preferred.

The candidate will be expected to understand the product, question formulations, research ingredients, coordinate with external R&D;/manufacturing partners and help take products from concept → formulation → trial → regulatory review → commercialisation.
