About the Role

We are looking for a .NET Developer with 3+ years of professional experience in C# and .NET development.

The role involves working on an established web application built on the Microsoft technology stack. You will be involved in developing and maintaining application features, working across the backend, database, and web-client layers, and contributing to the modernization of the existing application.

The current application is built on .NET Framework 4.6.2, with plans to migrate to modern .NET, including .NET 8/9. This role will provide an opportunity to work with both the existing technology stack and newer .NET technologies as part of the modernization effort.

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance web application features using C# and .NET.
- Work with the existing .NET Framework 4.6.2 application and contribute to its modernization toward .NET 8/9.
- Develop and maintain functionality using ASP.NET MVC and Razor.
- Work with SQL Server and T-SQL for application data access and business requirements.
- Write, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL queries and database-related functionality.
- Work with NHibernate as the application's ORM and understand how application objects interact with the database.




- Implement and maintain Dependency Injection using SimpleInjector.
- Work with AutoMapper for object-to-object mapping.
- Implement and maintain real-time functionality using SignalR.
- Manage database changes and migrations using FluentMigrator.
- Develop and maintain client-side functionality using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Work with Bootstrap and Webpack where required.
- Understand and work within the existing MVC architecture.
- Troubleshoot issues across the backend, frontend, and database layers.
- Write and maintain end-to-end tests using JavaScript.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and maintainability.
- Work effectively with an existing production codebase and understand the interaction between different application components.

Required Qualifications:

- 3+ years of professional experience in C#/.NET development.
- Strong understanding of C# and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience developing applications using .NET Framework.
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC.
- Good understanding of MVC architecture and its core concepts.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to write and understand T-SQL queries.
- Understanding of relational database concepts.
- Understanding of Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control in C#.
- Familiarity with SimpleInjector or similar Dependency Injection containers.
- Ability to understand and work with an existing application and codebase.




- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with ASP.NET Core and modern .NET.
- Experience with .NET Framework to modern .NET migration or application modernization.
- Strong T-SQL knowledge and experience optimizing SQL queries.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who has strong fundamentals in C# and .NET and is comfortable working across different layers of a web application.

The ideal candidate should be able to understand how the following components work together:

C# → ASP.NET MVC → Razor → JavaScript → SQL Server → T-SQL

Solid database knowledge is particularly valuable for this role. Candidates with experience troubleshooting slow queries, understanding execution plans, designing appropriate indexes, and optimizing SQL performance will have an advantage.

Experience with every library in the existing stack is not mandatory, provided the candidate has strong .NET fundamentals and can understand and work with an existing technology stack.
