Role Description This is a hybrid internship role based in Bengaluru, with some work-from-home flexibility.
The Medical Office
Assistant will support day-to-day clinic operations, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and managing front-desk inquiries.
Responsibilities include scheduling and confirming appointments, maintaining patient records, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow. The role involves verifying insurance details, assisting with basic billing-related documentation, and updating internal systems with accurate information.
The intern will also handle general administrative tasks, such as organizing files, preparing forms, and supporting office communication while following confidentiality and compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong Phone Etiquette skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff
- Experience or comfort with Appointment Scheduling and managing patient flow in a busy medical office
- Basic understanding of Medical Terminology and the ability to learn clinical and administrative vocabulary
- Familiarity with Insurance Verification processes and handling patient eligibility or coverage questions
- Administrative Assistance skills, including record keeping, data entry, and organizing documentation
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, practice management software)
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service mindset with a respectful, inclusive approach to patients and colleagues
- Preferred: Coursework or prior internship experience in healthcare administration or a related field
