Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Medical Coding Manager with 15 years of experience in Medical Coding and Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to lead and manage end-to-end coding operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in US healthcare coding, team leadership, quality management, client management, and operational performance. The candidate will be responsible for managing large coding teams, ensuring coding accuracy and compliance, achieving productivity and quality targets, handling client escalations, and driving continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

- Manage and oversee end-to-end medical coding operations across multiple specialties and client accounts.
- Ensure coding accuracy, productivity, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) targets are consistently achieved.
- Monitor daily operational performance and key metrics.
- Identify operational gaps and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, payer guidelines, and US healthcare coding standards.
- Manage and resolve operational issues and client escalations within defined timelines.

Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and manage teams comprising Medical Coders, Auditors, Team Leads, and Supervisors.
- Plan and allocate resources based on operational requirements.
- Set performance expectations and monitor individual and team performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
- Identify training requirements and support continuous skill development.
- Handle employee concerns, conflicts, and performance-related issues effectively.
- Develop a high-performance team culture focused on quality, accountability, productivity, and client satisfaction.

Quality & Compliance




- Establish and monitor effective quality assurance processes.
- Oversee coding audits and ensure adherence to applicable coding guidelines.
- Analyze quality trends and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure consistent compliance with HIPAA, data privacy, and information security requirements.
- Work closely with quality and training teams to improve coding accuracy and reduce errors.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding coding operations and performance.
- Participate in client calls, operational reviews, and business meetings.
- Handle client escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to clients and senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support new client transitions, process implementations, and business expansion initiatives.

Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and review MIS reports, productivity reports, quality reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Analyze performance trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Track productivity, quality, TAT, staffing, and other operational KPIs.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Support data-driven decision-making and continuous operational improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing,



or a related healthcare field.
- 15 years of experience in Medical Coding, with substantial experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and US healthcare coding guidelines.
- Proven experience managing large medical coding teams and multiple client accounts.
- Solid understanding of Healthcare RCM and medical coding operations.
- Experience in quality management, coding audits, productivity monitoring, and process improvement.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MIS reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capabilities.

- CPC – Certified Professional Coder
- CCS – Certified Coding Specialist
- CIC – Certified Inpatient Coder
- CPMA – Certified Professional Medical Auditor
