We are seeking a Mechanical Discipline Coordinator to serve as the primary technical liaison between Kiewit's North American Industrial engineering organization and our India-based engineering resources.

This role is responsible for coordinating mechanical engineering activities supporting Industrial projects, ensuring engineering deliverables meet Kiewit's standards for quality, safety, and execution. The successful candidate will facilitate communication, technical alignment, and collaboration between North American project teams and engineering partners in India while helping establish scalable engineering processes as the Mumbai office grows.

The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in power generation facilities and a passion for building high-performing global engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Engineering Coordination





- Serve as the primary mechanical engineering interface between Kiewit's North American Industrial engineering teams and the Mumbai engineering office.
- Coordinate daily engineering activities to ensure work is aligned with project priorities, schedules, and technical requirements.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams by resolving technical questions and ensuring timely decisions.
- Coordinate engineering work packages and monitor progress against project milestones.
- Build robust working relationships with engineers, project managers, and discipline leads across multiple offices.

Technical Coordination

- Support mechanical engineering activities throughout project planning, design, and execution.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with Kiewit standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes.
- Coordinate technical reviews and assist in maintaining engineering quality throughout project execution.
- Support engineering efforts involving:
- Data center mechanical and cooling systems
- Chilled water and process cooling systems
- HVAC and ventilation systems
- Pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment
- Material handling and conveying systems
- Crushing, grinding, and mineral processing equipment
- Process water and utility systems
- Heat exchangers and pressure vessels
- Compressed air and industrial gas systems
- Mechanical equipment selection, layouts, and specifications
- Equipment packages and vendor coordination




- Advanced manufacturing and high-tech facility systems

Project Execution
- Monitor engineering progress and proactively identify schedule or resource constraints.
- Assist project leadership with planning and coordination of globally distributed engineering work.
- Escalate technical issues and execution risks to appropriate engineering leadership.
- Participate in engineering coordination meetings across multiple time zones.
- Support implementation of engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience supporting industrial EPC projects.
- Experience coordinating engineering work across multiple offices or engineering organizations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems commonly found in Industrial facilities.
- Experience with one or more of the following:

o Data Centers o Mining/Mineral Processing Plants o Advanced Tech
- Familiarity with North American engineering standards and industry codes.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience supporting North American EPC projects.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
- Familiarity with engineering design and analysis tools commonly used for mechanical system design.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SmartPlant, AVEVA, Revit, Navisworks, or other engineering design platforms.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31 piping codes, API standards, ANSI, and applicable mechanical design standards.
