We require a highly competent and vigilant Consultant Anaesthetist to direct perioperative care, pain management, and resuscitation protocols. Serving as the backbone for both general surgery and obstetric emergencies, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring flawless anaesthetic safety. Given our location, the anaesthetist will also play a critical role in the Emergency Room, managing critical airways and stabilizing trauma or acute medical cases.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Perioperative Anaesthetic Management
- Pre-Anaesthetic Check-ups (PAC): Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations to assess patient fitness, optimize co-morbidities, and mitigate surgical risks.
- Anaesthesia Administration: Expertly administer General Anaesthesia, Regional Blocks (Spinal, Epidural, Nerve Blocks), and Monitored Anaesthesia Care (MAC) for a variety of surgical, orthopaedic, and obstetric procedures.
- Intra-Operative Monitoring: Ensure continuous, advanced monitoring of patient vitals, fluid balance, and depth of anaesthesia during surgeries.
2. Post-Operative Care & Pain Management
- PACU Supervision: Monitor patients closely in the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit for smooth extubating and emergence.
- Acute Pain Service: Design and execute multi-modal post-operative pain management protocols, improving patient recovery time.
3. Critical Care, Trauma & Resuscitation Support
- Airway Management: Act as the primary expert for difficult airway interventions across all hospital departments, including the ER and ICU.
- Resuscitation: Lead CPR and trauma resuscitation protocols for accidental injuries, industrial mishaps, or severe medical crises.
- OT Administration: Maintain strict quality controls over anaesthesia gas pipelines, machines, emergency drugs, and sterilization protocols.

- Crisis Management: Rapid diagnostic and therapeutic response to intra-operative complications or sudden cardiac events.
- Team Synergy: Seamless coordination with surgical, gynaecological, and nursing teams.
Qualifications & Recruitment Criteria (QR)
- Education: MD / DNB / Diploma in Anaesthesiology from an NMC recognized medical college or university.
- Experience: Min 05 years of post-qualification clinical experience in managing active operation theatres.
- Age Profile: Less than 45 years of age.
- Geographic Readiness: Physically fit and willing to adapt to the geographic realities of living and working in Sholtu, Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh.
