: Material Management / Store Coordinator The Material Management / Store Coordinator will be responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials at the shipyard. The role requires a positive understanding of electrical and mechanical materials, along with effective coordination with the procurement and project teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and efficient inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming electrical and mechanical materials against purchase orders, delivery documents, and specifications.
- Identify and verify materials based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Organize and store materials systematically in designated yard/storage areas.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, material receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
- Issue materials to project/site teams as per approved requirements and update stock registers accordingly.
- Coordinate closely with the procurement, project, production, and site teams regarding material requirements and replenishment.
- Monitor material availability and highlight shortages or delays to the concerned departments.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification/audits and report discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all material transactions.
- Maintain proper identification, tagging, and storage of materials to avoid damage, loss, or misplacement.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper housekeeping of storage and yard areas.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure safe handling, storage, and movement of materials.
- Support the project team in coordinating the timely availability of materials required for shipbuilding activities.
Requirements
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering,
OR relevant educational qualification with practical experience in handling mechanical/electrical materials.
- 4–5 years of experience in material management, stores, inventory management, or material coordination preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience and good knowledge of electrical and mechanical materials will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, fabrication, or similar industrial environments will be highly preferred.
- Experience in shipyard stores/material coordination will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and MS Excel.
- Good organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify, track, and manage different types of mechanical and electrical materials.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple teams at the yard site.
- Willingness to work in a shipyard/yard environment.
Preferred Candidate Profile Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Previous experience in shipbuilding or ship repair industries.
- Experience in shipyard stores or material coordination.
- Good practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials, tools, fittings, consumables, and related equipment.
- Experience coordinating material requirements between stores, procurement, production, and project teams.
- Experience in maintaining material records and ensuring timely material availability for ongoing projects.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
