We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Manager – Fire & Safety to lead all fire safety operations, emergency management, and compliance activities at our world-class Oragadam manufacturing plant. This is a critical leadership role ensuring zero fire incidents, statutory compliance, and a strong safety culture across the facility.
Mandatory Technical Requirements
Candidates MUST have knowledge and experience in:
Fire risk assessment as per NFPA 551 NFPA and NBC (National Building Code) standards Fire water systems, pump rooms, and fire tender operations Fire extinguisher management as per IS 2190 Fire alarm and fire fighting system knowledge Fire hazard identification and mitigation planning Onsite and offsite emergency plan preparation Fire prevention and fire fighting experience Statutory compliance — Fire License, RTO Emergency response across different scenarios Team handling, decision making, and leadership Good to Have
Heavy Vehicle License Hydraulic calculations for fire systems Fire pump curve analysis Fire load calculation HAZOP (Hazardous Operations) study Digital fire safety tools Fire engineering design review Fire fighting system project execution What You Will Do
Strategic Planning
Create comprehensive fire management plans — prevention, detection, suppression, and restoration Ensure worksite compliance with NFPA, NBC, and all local statutory requirements Operations & Compliance
Lead fire safety compliance across all plant assets Conduct regular fire risk assessments as per NFPA 551 Develop and implement onsite and offsite emergency response plans Conduct fire drills and provide fire safety training to employees Establish fire safety inspection programs to control fire hazards Manage fire water systems, pump rooms, fire tenders, and fire fighting equipment Ensure fire extinguisher compliance as per IS 2190 Monitor fire alarm and fire fighting system performance Vendor & Agency Management
Shortlist, select, and manage outsourced fire safety agencies Conduct regular performance reviews and prepare improvement plans Compliance & Statutory
Liaise with TNFRS and RTO for fire license, vehicle registration, and fitness certificate renewals Ensure all statutory compliance documentation is audit ready Emergency Management
Lead emergency response across all emergency scenarios Activate and manage Emergency Management Plan during incidents Supervise hot work permits and confined space entry authorizations Who We Are Looking For
14+ years of experience in Fire Safety / Fire Management in industrial setup
Qualification: B. E. in Fire / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering OR Science Graduate with Diploma in Industrial Safety OR PG Diploma in Fire Safety Management OR Station Officer / Sub Officer course from NFSC Nagpur or IFE UK/IND equivalent
Age: 30 – 35 Years
Robust knowledge of NFPA, NBC, IS 2190 standards
Experience liaising with TNFRS and RTO
Hands-on experience managing fire safety in a large manufacturing plant
Heavy Vehicle License — added advantage
