Maintenance Technician (Mechanical)

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and other plant equipment.
- Perform repair, replacement, fitting, and adjustment of mechanical components.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical systems such as pneumatic and hydraulic systems, bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, chains, and other machine components.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and trial activities when required.
- Attend machine breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Carry out routine machine inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before breakdown.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance check sheets.
- Coordinate with Production and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient machine operation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of hand tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Follow approved maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and workplace discipline.
- Report recurring machine problems and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Shift Requirement

Day / Night Shift





Candidates must be willing to work in rotational shifts and attend breakdowns as per operational requirements.

Working Hours

8 Hours / 12 Hours, depending on production and operational requirements.

Relocation

Candidates should be willing and prepared to relocate to Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, as per the requirements of the position.

Salary

Negotiable and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Preferred Candidate

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Machinist, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance of manufacturing or production machinery will be preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be an advantage.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
- Familiarity with bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, chains, fasteners, and other mechanical components.
- Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and maintenance instructions.
- Experience with Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), CNC machines, or industrial production equipment will be an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications and a strong willingness to learn may also apply.
