1. Job Purpose

To manage and ensure effective end-to-end logistics and cold chain operations for the company, covering the movement of ice cream and other frozen products from the manufacturing plant to depots, distributors, parlours, modern trade and other sales channels. The position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the frozen cold chain, ensuring timely deliveries, optimum transportation costs, vehicle utilization, inventory movement, depot replenishment and adherence to required temperature and food-safety standards.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Cold Chain Management

- Manage the complete frozen cold chain from plant dispatch to depot/distributor/customer delivery.
- Ensure prescribed temperature conditions are maintained throughout transportation and storage.
- Monitor and control temperature-sensitive logistics operations to minimize product thawing, melting, quality deterioration and product loss.
- Establish and monitor SOPs for loading, transportation, unloading and handling of frozen products.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of refrigerated vehicles/freezer vans and cold storage facilities.
- Monitor temperature records, deviations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Quality/QA and Operations teams in case of temperature or product-quality deviations.

B. Transportation & Distribution Management
- Plan and manage daily dispatch and delivery schedules based on sales requirements, stock availability and market demand.
- Ensure timely movement of products from the manufacturing plant to depots and distribution points.
- Plan vehicle deployment, route optimization and delivery schedules for different territories.
- Ensure optimum vehicle utilization and minimize empty running, delays and transportation costs.
- Monitor vehicle availability, loading capacity and route adherence.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers and logistics service providers.
- Track vehicle movement and delivery status through available GPS/technology systems.

C. Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Sales, Depot, Dispatch, Purchase, QA and Finance teams for smooth supply chain operations.
- Align dispatch planning with sales forecasts, market requirements and inventory levels.




- Ensure timely replenishment of depots based on stock norms and sales requirements.
- Monitor product movement from plant to depots and from depots to market.
- Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Support demand planning and seasonal supply planning, particularly during the peak ice cream season.

D. Inventory & Depot Management
- Monitor stock movement across plants, depots and distribution locations.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices for frozen products.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, expired and near-expiry stock.
- Coordinate with depot teams for stock reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Minimize product losses arising from melting, damage, handling, temperature deviations and transportation issues.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels at various distribution points.

E. Cost Management
- Control transportation and logistics costs without compromising service levels or cold chain integrity.
- Analyze freight costs, vehicle utilization, route-wise costs and delivery costs.
- Negotiate and manage commercial terms with transporters and logistics vendors in coordination with the management/procurement team.
- Identify opportunities for route optimization, load consolidation and reduction in logistics costs.
- Prepare periodic logistics cost and performance reports for management.

F. Transporter & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with transporters, cold-chain service providers and other logistics vendors.
- Ensure availability of adequate vehicles during peak season.
- Evaluate transporter performance on parameters such as cost, delivery timelines, vehicle condition, temperature compliance and service quality.
- Ensure statutory documents and required compliances of vehicles and transporters are maintained.
- Take corrective action in case of repeated service failures.





G. Compliance, Food Safety & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, cold-chain, transportation and statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of dispatches, deliveries, temperature records and vehicle details.
- Coordinate with QA/Food Safety teams for cold-chain and hygiene-related requirements.
- Ensure logistics operations comply with company SOPs and food safety standards.
- Maintain proper records for audits and inspections.

H. Team Management
- Lead and manage the logistics and dispatch coordination team.
- Define responsibilities and performance expectations for logistics personnel.
- Train team members on cold-chain handling, safety, documentation and operational SOPs.
- Monitor team performance and productivity.
- Develop a performance-oriented and cost-conscious logistics culture.

I. MIS & Performance Monitoring Prepare and present regular MIS reports covering:
- Plant-to-depot dispatch
- Depot-wise stock movement
- Vehicle utilization
- On-time delivery performance
- Freight and logistics cost
- Route-wise transportation cost
- Cold-chain temperature compliance
- Product damage/melting losses
- Vehicle availability
- Transporter performance
- Delivery pending/short delivery
- Logistics-related customer/service issues
- Overall logistics KPI performance

The Logistics & Cold Chain Manager will be evaluated on:

1. Qualification

- Graduate in any discipline; preferably MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Operations.
- Additional qualifications/certifications in Supply Chain, Logistics or Cold Chain Management will be preferred.

Pay: ₹50,000.04 - ₹125,000.47 per month
