About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux Administrator to join our dynamic team at Cloud4C Services. This role is critical in managing and supporting enterprise-scale Linux environments across multiple distributions including RedHat, SUSE, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux, and AlmaLinux. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our Linux infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of critical business services.
This position requires hands-on experience with system administration, automation, clustering, and container technologies, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of practical experience in Linux system administration.
- Strong understanding of Linux internals, including system boot processes, runlevels, and systemd.
- Experience in setting up and troubleshooting Pacemaker clusters.
- Scripting proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for infrastructure and application issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including 24/7 support models.
Preferred certifications include Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA), which are considered advantageous for this role.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain various Linux distributions such as RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux, and AlmaLinux to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Implement and manage Pacemaker-based High Availability (HA) clusters to guarantee system resilience and uptime.
- Perform patch management, kernel upgrades, and minor OS updates to keep systems secure and up-to-date.
- Create and manage disk partitions, Logical Volume Managers (LVMs), and mount file systems for efficient storage utilization.
- Configure and maintain yum repositories, ensuring reliable package management and updates.
- Troubleshoot Linux servers operating on virtual platforms, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Conduct scheduled operations such as log rotation, cron job management, and automation of routine tasks.
- Monitor server performance, analyze logs, and implement tuning measures to optimize system efficiency.
- Apply ITIL best practices in incident, request, problem, and change management processes to ensure structured and effective handling of issues.
- Configure and secure Linux systems using iptables, TCP wrappers, and host-level firewalls to safeguard against unauthorized access.
- Install, configure, and manage essential services such as FTP, Samba, NFS (server and client), DNS, HTTPD/Apache, and LDAP.
- Manage DNS entries and host records through DNS portals, ensuring accurate and reliable domain resolution.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell scripting and Ansible Playbooks to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform system backups using tools like tar, rsync, scp, and gzip, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Support project builds and Business As Usual (BAU) operations for large-scale infrastructure, ensuring continuous service delivery.
- Prepare incident reports and root cause analysis documentation to facilitate continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Work within a 24/7 support model, primarily during North America shifts, providing timely and effective support to clients.
