About Mave Health
Mave Health is building the future of cognitive performance. We make a tDCS wearable headset that targets the prefrontal cortex to improve focus, stress regulation, and mental performance in 20 minutes a day. We're a $2.8Mn funded, fast-moving team working at the frontier of consumer neurotechnology, and we're looking for someone who wants to help define what that category looks like to the world.
About the Role
You'd be owning the next generation of Mave's hardware. The headset you know today is just the starting point. We're now building the next generation of the category, and it's not an incremental update, it's a real leap, and nobody's handed us the playbook for it.
This is a foundational hire: you'd be defining what that next generation actually looks like, not executing a spec someone else wrote. If you want your name on the thing that gets built next, not just the thing that shipped, this is the role.
Alongside that, you'll keep our current hardware running in the real world: production support, manufacturing issues, the day-to-day of a shipped device.
? What You’ll Work On
- Own the next generation hardware end to end
- circuits, PCBs, and whatever it takes to get a real prototype built, fast.
- Work closely with our team on what the hardware needs to capture
- Eventually take a validated design into production
- Design production-ready schematics and multi-layer PCBs for compact wearable devices, optimized for low-power consumption, signal integrity, and wireless communication.
- Support and improve our production hardware as needed - PCB iterations, DFM, bring-up, testing, and debugging of units already in the field.
- Interface with external vendors for sourcing, manufacturing, and compliance testing.
- Ensure hardware passes compliance (ISO 13485, EMI/EMC, ESD, RE/RI) with support from the team.
- Conduct hands-on prototyping, soldering, and board debugging yourself, at every stage.
✅ Who We're Looking For
- A real track record of owning things outside your core skill because the problem needed it - not just execution to spec
- Strong hands-on experience in electronics/hardware engineering — proficient with Altium and/or KiCad, comfortable with BLE, SPI, I2C, GPIO, JTAG.
- Shipped at least one consumer or medical-grade wearable product to production, or equivalent depth.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and speed - this is a quick-moving startup on a real timeline, not a lab with a semester to spare.
- High ownership, low hand-holding, genuine curiosity about health-tech that impacts real people
