We are looking for an Estimation Engineer with 23 years of hands-on experience in quantity take-off, BOQ preparation and cost estimation for real estate/residential-commercial construction projects. The role involves working closely with design, planning, procurement and site teams to develop accurate cost estimates and support tendering and budgeting decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Study tender documents, drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quantity take-offs (QTO)
- Prepare and finalize Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for civil, structural, MEP and finishing works
- Develop rate analysis for materials, labor and equipment based on current market rates
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for ongoing and upcoming real estate projects
- Collect, compare and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement and site teams to gather inputs and validate quantities
- Support the tendering process including bid preparation,
comparative statements and pricing strategy
- Maintain and update the cost/rate database and historical project cost library
- Track and reconcile estimated vs. actual quantities and costs during execution
- Assist project and commercial teams with cost inputs for feasibility and budgeting decisions
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-6 years of experience in estimation/costing with a real estate developer or construction contracting company
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, civil and structural drawings for quantity extraction
- Solid proficiency in MS Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials and market rate benchmarking
- Strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Good communication skills to coordinate across design, planning, procurement and site teams
