Role Description:

- As a Chemical engineer, you would be responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes used in manufacturing. This could involve working on everything from process flow diagrams to troubleshooting issues in production.

- In this role, you would work on designing chemical plants or units, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and profitability of new or modified production units.

- In R&D;, you would be involved in developing recent chemical products or processes, focusing on innovation, and improving the efficiency of existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and optimize chemical processes for production.

- Conduct material and energy balances.

- Work with plant operators to ensure smooth operation and troubleshooting.

- Perform simulations using software tools like Aspen Plus, EDR, HYSYS, or MATLAB.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

- Design plant layouts and equipment specifications.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D;, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation,



Purchase).

- Apply engineering principles to optimize design for safety, cost, and efficiency.

- Assist with the preparation of technical documentation and design reports.

- Conduct research to develop new chemical products or improve existing ones.

- Scale laboratory findings to pilot-plant or industrial-scale processes.

Skills Required:

- Strong foundation in chemical process design and thermodynamics.

- Knowledge of heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, and reaction engineering.

- Familiarity with process simulation software ASPEN Plus.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Familiarity with project management practices.

- In-depth understanding of chemical reactions, materials science, and laboratory techniques.

- Creative problem-solving and analytical thinking.

- Proficiency in lab equipment, and sometimes chemical characterization techniques.

- Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
