Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all quality control laboratory activities.
- Conduct chemical and physical testing of MS Scrap, Sponge Iron, MS Billets, and TMT Bars.
- Ensure product quality as per IS standards (IS 1786, IS 2830, etc.).
- Monitor heat-wise production quality and maintain proper records.
- Handle spectrometer analysis and other lab equipment efficiently.
- Coordinate with production team for process improvement and defect control.
- Analyze test results and take corrective actions to maintain quality.
- Maintain documentation, reports, and quality records for audits.
- Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of lab instruments.
- Lead and train QC lab staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certification in quality control or metallurgy will be an advantage.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in steel manufacturing industry.
- Must have hands-on experience in MS Billetand TMT Bar production quality control.
- Experience in induction furnace/rolling mill operations will be preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of steel metallurgy and testing procedures.
- Experience with spectrometer, UTM, hardness tester, and other lab equipment.
- Knowledge of IS standards and quality compliance.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
