Job Description Position: Primary Teacher (PRT) - Mathematics

Department: Primary Wing

Reports To: Headmistress / Principal

Role Overview

The PRT - Mathematics is responsible for teaching Mathematics to students of Classes I-V, fostering conceptual clarity, logical reasoning, and numerical proficiency. The teacher will create a positive, engaging, and child-centered learning environment aligned with CBSE curriculum and DPS Society guidelines.

Key Responsibilities Academic:

- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons as per CBSE curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans incorporating activity-based and experiential learning.
- Ensure conceptual understanding of topics such as:
- Number system
- Basic operations
- Fractions
- Geometry basics
- Measurement
- Data handling
- Use teaching aids, manipulatives, smart boards, and ICT tools.

Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare worksheets, class tests, and question papers.
- Conduct periodic assessments and maintain academic records.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.




- Identify slow learners and provide remedial support.

Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and positive classroom workplace.
- Encourage participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Ensure student safety and well-being.

Co-curricular & School Responsibilities
- Participate in school events, assemblies, and competitions.
- Support Olympiads and Mathematics enrichment activities.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training programs.
- Contribute to school documentation and academic planning.

Parent Communication
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Maintain regular communication regarding student progress.

Qualification & Experience
- D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. (as per CBSE norms).
- CTET qualified (preferred as per CBSE guidelines).

Experience
- 1-3 years teaching experience in primary classes preferred.

- Strong conceptual clarity in primary Mathematics.
- Excellent communication skill
