Overview
- The role of a Basketball Coach is essentially to build and maintain a successful basketball program by providing an educational atmosphere conducive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry.
Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and deliver coaching sessions aligned with the school’s basketball development philosophy.
- Assess and monitor players’ performance and progress, setting individual and team goals for improvement.
- Liaise with the Sports Coordinator/Activities Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the basketball program.
- Maintain clear, qualified, and timely communication with parents.
- Take responsibility for extra-curricular activities; participate in school events, assemblies, staff trainings, meetings, and tournaments.
- Promote the health, safety, and well-being of all assigned players.
Skills Description
- Be a passionate coach with the ability to deliver inquiry-based learning through sport.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop a stimulating, challenging,
and well-organized training environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hold relevant coaching qualifications with prior experience coaching school-level or youth basketball programs.
- Have completed basketball coaching certifications and sport-focused qualified training.
