About the RoleWe are looking for a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in investment casting manufacturing. The intern will work closely with the Production, Quality, and Industrial Engineering teams and will be involved in inspection, process monitoring, production analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement activities across various stages of the casting process.

This role is ideal for students or fresh graduates who want practical exposure to investment casting, manufacturing processes, quality control, process optimization, and shop-floor operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Quality Control

- Perform wax pattern inspection for dimensional accuracy, surface condition, defects, and overall conformity with drawings/specifications.
- Assist with inspection of ceramic shells and identify visible defects, cracks, surface abnormalities, or process deviations.
- Perform/assist in final product inspection of investment cast components.
- Inspect castings for common defects such as:
- Porosity
- Shrinkage
- Cracks
- Misruns
- Cold shuts
- Inclusions
- Surface defects
- Dimensional deviations
- Assist in in-process inspection at different stages of the investment casting process.
- Verify components against engineering drawings, specifications, inspection standards, and customer requirements.
- Assist the Quality team with measurement using instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Record inspection results and maintain proper quality documentation.





Investment Casting Process ExposureThe intern will gain practical exposure to various stages of the investment casting process, including: Wax Injection → Wax Pattern Inspection → Assembly/Treeing → Ceramic Shell Making → Dewaxing → Burnout → Melting & Pouring → Knockout → Cut-off & Fettling → Heat Treatment → Shot Blasting/Finishing → Final Inspection → Packing/Dispatch

- Understand the purpose and key quality parameters of each manufacturing stage.
- Monitor process parameters and identify deviations that may affect casting quality.
- Assist in identifying the root causes of recurring manufacturing defects.

Industrial Engineering & Process Improvement
- Collect and analyze production and quality data.
- Assist in monitoring cycle time, manpower utilization, rejection, rework, and productivity.
- Conduct basic time studies and process studies on shop-floor operations.
- Identify opportunities for reducing waste, rejection, rework, waiting time, and process variation.
- Assist in developing and improving SOPs, work instructions, inspection checklists, and process documentation.
- Support 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare basic reports, charts, and presentations related to production and quality performance.
- Work with production and quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Pursuing or recently completed Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- ITE candidates
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and around manufacturing operations.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
- Willingness to learn quality inspection techniques and investment casting processes.
- Positive communication and documentation skills.
- Freshers and candidates seeking industrial exposure are encouraged to apply.

- Note: This is a hands-on manufacturing internship. The selected candidate will be expected to spend significant time on the shop floor and participate in inspection, production monitoring, data collection, and process-improvement activities.
