Role Summary

The Homologation Officer is responsible for securing and maintaining all regulatory approvals for electric two-wheelers (e-bikes / e-scooters) in compliance with Indian automotive regulations prior to commercial launch. The role ensures adherence to statutory standards, coordinates with certification bodies, and supports cross-functional teams to achieve full product compliance.

Key Responsibilities1️ Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure vehicle compliance with Indian regulatory authorities such as:
- Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI)
- International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT)
- Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT)
- Ensure compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR)
- Ensure adherence to AIS standards (e.g., AIS-156 for EV battery safety)

2️ Type Approval & Certification
- Coordinate with government-approved testing agencies
- Manage Conformity of Production (COP) audits
- Maintain certification records and regulatory documentation
- Track approval timelines to ensure timely product launch

3️ Testing & Validation




- Develop and execute homologation test plans
- Ensure compliance of battery pack, motor, controller, and BMS
- Coordinate EMC, braking, lighting, and safety testing
- Work closely with R&D; and Engineering teams to implement design changes required for compliance
- Validate vehicle performance against AIS and CMVR requirements

4️ Documentation & Liaison
- Prepare technical dossiers and regulatory submissions
- Liaise with government authorities and test agencies
- Maintain updated homologation database and documentation
- Provide regulatory compliance guidance to internal stakeholders

5️ Regulatory Monitoring
- Track updates in EV policies and FAME schemes
- Analyze impact of regulatory changes on current and upcoming products
- Recommend proactive compliance strategies

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical Engineering
- 3-7 years of experience in vehicl
