Job Summary

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Product Development

Develop and reformulate protein powders (Whey, Plant Protein, Casein, Blends)

Create new formulations for:
Sports Nutrition

Weight Management

Clinical Nutrition

General Wellness Supplements

Work on flavor masking, texture improvement, and solubility enhancement

Stability studies and shelf-life evaluation

Research & Ingredient Innovation

Identify and evaluate new functional ingredients (amino acids, probiotics, enzymes, herbal extracts)

Conduct lab trials and pilot batch production

Work on bioavailability and absorption improvement

Benchmark competitor products

Manufacturing & Scale-Up

Transfer lab formulations to commercial production scale

Coordinate with production team for:
Batch standardization

Process optimization

Yield improvement

Handle technical troubleshooting during manufacturing

Regulatory & Documentation

Ensure compliance with:
FSSAI regulations

GMP standards

ISO / HACCP guidelines

Prepare:
Product dossiers

COA specifications





Technical data sheets

Label claim validation documents

Client & Business Support (B2B / Contract Manufacturing)

Work closely with marketing & sales team for custom formulations

Support B2B clients with technical presentations

Develop export-compliant formulations (US, EU, Middle East markets)

Required Qualifications

M.Sc / M.Tech / Ph.D in:
Food Technology

Pharmaceutical Sciences

Nutraceutical Sciences

Biotechnology

3-10+ years of experience in nutraceutical R&D;

Prior experience in companies like Zeon, Tirupati, or leading contract manufacturers preferred

Technical Skills Required

Protein formulation expertise

Flavor development knowledge

Stability testing & validation

Ingredient compatibility studies

Strong documentation skills

Understanding of global supplement compliance
