HEAD – FINANCE & ACCOUNTS | CA INTER | CONSTRUCTION / INTERIOR / EPC

Location: Gurugram

Reporting To: Managing Director

Compensation: ₹12–20 LPA CTC

POSITION PURPOSE The Head – Finance & Accounts will act as the financial custodian of the company. The role combines routine finance operations with financial planning, commercial analysis, internal controls, profitability improvement, working capital management and business support.

The candidate will be responsible for providing real-time financial visibility, protecting company cash, improving profitability, eliminating financial leakages and strengthening financial controls across the business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- FINANCIAL PLANNING & BUDGETING
- Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and monthly MIS
- Conduct budget vs actual and variance analysis
- Support management in financial planning and forecasting

2. CASH FLOW & TREASURY

- Monitor daily bank position
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Plan payments and fund utilization
- Monitor working capital requirements and cash availability

3. WORKING CAPITAL

- Monitor debtors, creditors, retention money, GST receivables, inventory and advances
- Improve collection cycles and working capital efficiency
- Track outstanding payments and recovery timelines

4. PROJECT FINANCIAL CONTROL

- Monitor Budget vs Actual performance
- Track WIP and project profitability
- Identify cost overruns and financial deviations
- Monitor project billing and collections
- Analyse project-level financial performance

5. COMMERCIAL FINANCE

- Review client contracts, BOQs, POs, rate analysis and commercial terms
- Review variation orders and payment terms
- Identify commercial and financial risks
- Support pricing and commercial decision-making

6. PROCUREMENT CONTROLS

- Review vendor comparisons and pricing
- Conduct price benchmarking and purchase analytics
- Monitor material reconciliation
- Identify procurement savings and cost-reduction opportunities
- Prepare savings and procurement performance reports

7. BILLING & COLLECTIONS

- Ensure billing accuracy and timely submission
- Monitor billing certification and receivables ageing
- Track retention recovery and claim recovery
- Improve collection efficiency and reduce outstanding receivables

VENDOR PAYMENT GOVERNANCE

- Ensure PO, invoice, GRN, work certification, budget and required approvals are in place before payment
- Review payment priorities based on cash flow and business requirements
- Strengthen vendor payment controls

9. FINANCIAL LEAKAGE CONTROL

- Detect duplicate or incorrect payments
- Identify idle inventory and material wastage
- Identify labour and project cost leakages
- Control unapproved expenses
- Identify causes of delayed collections

10. COST OPTIMIZATION

- Identify savings opportunities across procurement, logistics, rentals, utilities, subcontracting, bank charges and office expenses
- Recommend and implement cost-reduction initiatives

11. INVENTORY CONTROL

- Monitor inventory ageing and dead stock
- Conduct site-wise inventory reconciliation
- Monitor scrap disposal
- Coordinate physical verification of inventory

12. BANKING & TREASURY

- Manage working capital requirements
- Handle BGs, LCs, loans and renewals
- Manage banking documentation and coordination with banks

13. ACCOUNTING & REPORTING

- Oversee books of accounts
- Ensure timely monthly closing
- Review bank, ledger and other reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Coordinate with auditors

14. TAXATION & COMPLIANCE

- Ensure compliance related to GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC, MSME and PF/ESI
- Ensure timely statutory filings and compliance
- Coordinate with consultants and authorities wherever required

15. MIS & DASHBOARDS

- Prepare daily cash and collections reports
- Monitor profitability and working capital
- Prepare project financial performance reports
- Develop business performance dashboards
- Provide timely financial information to the Managing Director

16. INTERNAL FINANCIAL CONTROLS

- Develop and strengthen finance SOPs
- Establish approval and delegation matrices
- Strengthen payment and expense controls
- Identify process gaps and implement corrective measures

17. ERP & AUTOMATION

- Support ERP implementation and improvements
- Identify opportunities for workflow automation
- Improve finance reporting and digitization

18. AUDIT MANAGEMENT

- Coordinate internal, statutory, GST, tax and bank audits
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations




- Maintain proper documentation and financial records

19. TEAM LEADERSHIP

- Lead and manage the finance and accounts team
- Allocate responsibilities and review team performance
- Train team members and improve finance processes
- Drive continuous improvement within the finance function

20. BUSINESS PARTNER TO MANAGING DIRECTOR

- Support the MD in pricing decisions
- Support investment and business planning decisions
- Conduct financial risk analysis
- Identify cost optimization opportunities
- Participate in monthly business and financial reviews

DECISION AUTHORITY

- Recommend payment priorities, budgets, working capital actions, vendor commercials and cost-reduction initiatives
- Major capital expenditure, loans, exceptional payments and contractual deviations will require MD approval

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification:

- CA Inter is mandatory
- CA Qualified candidates can also apply

Experience:

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts
- Candidates from Construction, Interior Fit-Out, EPC, Engineering or Manufacturing backgrounds will be preferred
- Solid experience in project-based financial control and commercial finance is required
