Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic VP – Construction / Senior General Manager – Construction to lead the execution and delivery of large-scale construction projects. The role will have end-to-end responsibility for construction operations, project delivery, planning, cost control, quality, safety, subcontractor management, and overall project performance.

The ideal candidate will be a strong construction leader with a proven track record of managing multiple large projects, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, while consistently delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all construction activities across projects.
- Drive end-to-end project execution from mobilization through completion and handover.
- Lead construction planning, scheduling, resource allocation, productivity, and execution strategy.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Review project budgets, schedules, resource requirements, risks, and progress on a regular basis.
- Establish strong project controls, MIS, reporting, and performance-monitoring systems.
- Lead and mentor Project Heads, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams.
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders.




- Oversee contractor selection, performance management, productivity, and commercial coordination.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation and recovery plans.
- Drive resolution of critical technical, commercial, contractual, and execution-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, quality standards, and construction methodologies.
- Champion a strong HSE / safety culture across all project sites.
- Monitor project profitability, cost-to-completion, variations, claims, and commercial performance in coordination with the commercial and finance teams.
- Drive adoption of best practices, construction technology, productivity improvements, and process standardization.
- Ensure effective coordination between design, procurement, contracts, commercial, finance, and construction functions.
- Provide regular project and portfolio-level updates to senior management.
- Support business planning, new project mobilization, estimation/feasibility reviews, and organizational growth initiatives.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory; a postgraduate qualification in Construction Management / Project Management will be an advantage.
- 20+ years of overall experience in construction/project execution, with significant experience in senior leadership roles.
- Strong experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects and preferably multiple projects simultaneously.




- Proven experience in leading large site and project teams.
- Solid understanding of construction planning, project controls, contracts, commercial management, quality, and HSE.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects with significant budgets and tight delivery timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder-management, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong commercial orientation with an understanding of project profitability and cost management.
- Highly hands-on, result-oriented, and capable of working in a quick-paced project environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with CXO-level stakeholders.
