Hardware Lab Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

- Strong knowledge of electronics fundamentals, electronic circuits, PCB assembly, and hardware debugging.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple engineering teams simultaneously.
- Perform soldering, de-soldering, and rework of SMD (QFN, BGA, fine-pitch) and through-hole components.
- Troubleshoot, debug, repair, and modify electronic PCBAs and hardware prototypes.
- Build and modify prototypes using breadboards, preboards, and general-purpose PCBs.
- Support board bring-up, hardware validation, failure analysis, and root cause investigations.
- Support RF testing activities, including RF chamber setup, testing, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain test fixtures, test setups, and lab automation solutions.
- Provide hands-on hardware testing and debugging support to engineering teams.
- Maintain hardware laboratory infrastructure, tools, and test equipment.
- Ensure laboratory equipment remains operational, calibrated,



and available for engineering use.
- Perform preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments and test systems.
- Own asset tracking and inventory management for laboratory equipment and tools.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for boards, components, consumables, instruments, and accessories.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments of equipment, prototypes, and engineering samples.
- Monitor calibration schedules, maintain calibration records, and coordinate calibration activities.
- Analyse equipment lifecycle and recommend replacements, upgrades, or new acquisitions.
- Drive and sustain compliance with ESD, IPC workmanship, laboratory safety, and quality standards.
- Drive and sustain 5S practices to maintain an organized and effective laboratory environment.
- Develop risk assessments and safety procedures for new equipment and test setups.

• Demonstrate strong documentation, inventory management, and organizational skills.
