Hirely is recruiting General Accounting Experts on behalf of a hiring partner for an AI training and evaluation project.

You’ll use your professional accounting expertise to help build AI systems that can reason about real-world accounting work. The role involves designing realistic accounting scenarios, evaluating AI-generated accounting outputs, and providing structured feedback based on professional standards and judgment.

Professionals can contribute in the areas where they have the strongest expertise, including audit, tax, financial reporting, bookkeeping, controllership, forensic accounting, and accounting systems.

What You’ll Do

- Design realistic accounting scenarios and tasks based on real-world professional workflows.
- Create examples involving financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, audit procedures, tax work, and internal controls.
- Review and compare AI-generated accounting outputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Assess outputs for appropriate application of GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards .
- Evaluate whether AI-generated work demonstrates sound professional accounting judgment.
- Create structured examples showing how accounting professionals approach complex problems.
- Provide clear written feedback to identify errors and improve AI-generated outputs.
- Collaborate asynchronously with a research team on accounting-focused AI evaluation tasks.

Who We’re Looking For

- 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, tax, bookkeeping, controllership, finance operations, or a related area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, EA,



or equivalent professional accounting credential required.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze accounting work and explain professional reasoning clearly.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Relevant Backgrounds Candidates with experience in Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit & Assurance, Tax Accounting, Bookkeeping, Corporate Accounting, Controllership, Internal Audit, Forensic Accounting, Accounting Advisory, Management Accounting, Finance Operations, Internal Controls, Accounting Systems, Reconciliations, Month-End Close, or Technical Accounting may be a strong fit.

Accounting Standards & Specialties

Experience with GAAP, IFRS, auditing, taxation, financial reporting, bookkeeping, controllership, or accounting operations may be relevant depending on your area of expertise. Candidates can contribute primarily within their strongest accounting specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems .
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis and reporting workflows.
- Experience working in public accounting, corporate finance/accounting, advisory, or professional services.




- Experience creating or reviewing accounting documentation, workpapers, financial reports, or audit materials.
- Prior AI training, evaluation, data annotation, or research experience is a plus but not required .
