Roles and Responsibilities :
- Design and develop fixtures for electronic components using CAD software such as Creo, Catia, UG NX.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication during new product introduction (NPI) process.
- Conduct DFA/DFM studies to optimize fixture designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot issues related to fixture design, tolerance analysis, and jig fixture development.
Job Requirements :
- 2-8 years of experience in Fixture Design Engineering or similar field.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling using CAD software like AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including NPI procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work independently on complex projects.
Skills: Fixture Design, UG NX,Autocard ,Fixtures Debug, structural mechanics, Product Design, NPI, DFM, DFA, Tolerance analysis, Manufacturing processes, Mechanical Design Principles, Leadership, Design of Experiments, OEM. Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and Fixture Design using UG NX and AutoCAD
- Proficient in mechanical design principles, including GD&T;, engineering materials, manufacturing and machining processes, and assembly concepts
- Knowledge of Fixture components, standard machine elements, tolerance stack-up, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) will be an added advantage
- Proficient in English with robust verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving,
and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced PD Fixture Development/NPI environment
:
Design and develop precision fixtures, tooling, and mechanical mechanisms for manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, teardown, and automation.
Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using Siemens NX (UG NX).
Apply GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM, DFA, and Poka-Yoke principles to achieve robust and manufacturable designs.
Design mechanisms incorporating springs, bearings, linear guides, clamps, locating features, pneumatic, and vacuum systems.
Perform fixture validation through engineering trials, Gauge R&R;, DOE, and Cp/Cpk studies to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and process capability.
Conduct design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential failure modes.
Support prototype builds, production trials, new product introduction (NPI), and engineering change implementation (ECO/ECN).
Troubleshoot fixture and process issues using structured root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D) and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with Product Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Industrial Engineering, and suppliers to deliver production-ready solutions.
Drive continuous improvement by optimizing fixture performance, cycle time, quality, reliability, standardization, and cost.
- Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, design specifications, validation reports, SOPs, assembly instructions, BOMs, and technical documentation.
