About the Role

We are looking for a Fashion Designer with deep knowledge of fabrics and machine work who can create fresh, sellable designs and take them from sketch to finished sample on our production floor. You will work directly with our masters and karigars every day, so hands-on production experience matters as much as creativity.

Key Responsibilities

- Design recent styles and collections of kurtas, kurta sets and co-ord sets for daily wear, festive and occasion wear

- Research trends on Myntra, Flipkart, Instagram and competitor brands, and turn them into designs that sell at our price points

- Select fabrics, laces, trims and buttons based on look, feel, drape, cost and availability in the Surat market

- Plan embroidery and machine work (computerised embroidery, thread work, sequin, zari, schiffli, etc.) and prepare design placements and artwork for the embroidery team

- Work closely with the pattern master and karigars to develop samples, correct fit and finishing, and approve the final piece before bulk production

- Prepare spec sheets / tech packs with measurements, fabric, trims, work details and colour options

- Coordinate with fabric suppliers, dyeing and printing units, and embroidery job workers

- Keep design costing under control so every style meets its target MRP and margin

- Check bulk production to make sure the final product matches the approved sample





- Plan and deliver seasonal and festive launches (Diwali, wedding season, summer, etc.) on time

Requirements

- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design (NIFT, Pearl Academy or any recognised institute), or equivalent industry experience

- 2–5 years of experience designing women's ethnic wear, preferably kurtas, kurta sets or co-ord sets

- Deep knowledge of fabrics such as Vichitra silk, georgette, chinon, rayon, cotton, muslin, chanderi, organza and crepe, including how each behaves in cutting, stitching, embroidery and washing

- Strong understanding of machine embroidery and surface work, and how design choices affect production cost and time

- Comfortable working on the factory floor with masters and karigars, and able to explain designs clearly in Hindi (Gujarati is a plus)

- Good eye for colour, silhouettes, necklines and current ethnic wear trends

- Understanding of garment construction, measurements and size grading

- Working knowledge of CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop

Good to Have

- Experience designing for online marketplaces (Myntra, Flipkart, Meesho, Ajio)

- Knowledge of Surat's fabric and embroidery markets and suppliers

- Familiarity with embroidery design software (Wilcom or similar)

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
