Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Factory HR professional to manage end-to-end HR operations at our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The role will involve employee relations, manpower planning, attendance and payroll coordination, recruitment, statutory compliance, training, performance management, and maintaining a productive and disciplined work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Manage recruitment for production, quality, warehouse, engineering, maintenance, and other plant functions.
- Coordinate with department heads for manpower requirements.
- Conduct screening, interviews, selection, and onboarding of employees.
- Maintain manpower records and ensure timely joining of selected candidates.
- Support contract/temporary manpower requirements.
1. Employee Relations
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues.
- Maintain healthy employee-management relations.
- Conduct employee engagement activities and support a positive work culture.
- Address absenteeism, turnover, and employee retention issues.
- Coordinate with workers, supervisors, and department heads to resolve HR-related concerns.
1. Attendance & Payroll
- Manage daily attendance, shift schedules, leave, overtime, and absenteeism records.
- Coordinate with payroll teams for monthly salary processing.
- Verify attendance and payroll inputs before submission.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
1. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate PF, ESIC, PT, gratuity, bonus, minimum wages, labour welfare, and other applicable compliances.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation.
- Coordinate with government authorities, labour inspectors, and external agencies whenever required.
- Ensure compliance related to contract labour and factory workforce.
1. Training & Development
- Identify training requirements in coordination with plant departments.
- Coordinate induction and onboarding programs.
- Maintain training records and employee development documentation.
- Support GMP-related, safety, quality, and compliance training programs as required in the pharma industry.
1. Performance Management
- Coordinate performance appraisal and review processes.
- Maintain performance-related records.
- Support department heads in setting employee goals and addressing performance issues.
1. HR Policies & Documentation
- Implement company HR policies and procedures at the plant.
- Maintain employee databases, personnel files, and HR reports.
- Prepare periodic HR MIS related to headcount, absenteeism, attrition, overtime, recruitment, and other HR metrics.
- Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality of employee information.
1. Pharma Plant HR Responsibilities
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, EHS, and Administration teams.
- Support HR processes in accordance with pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure employees receive required induction, GMP, safety, hygiene, and other mandatory training.
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining proper HR and training documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of plant/factory HR operations.
- Good understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in recruitment and manpower management.
- Good knowledge of attendance, leave, payroll, PF and ESIC processes.
- Robust employee relations and grievance-handling skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/shift-based environment.
- Good MS Office/Excel and HRMS knowledge.
- Pharma industry or regulated manufacturing experience will be preferred.
Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in Pharmaceutical, Chemical, API, Formulation, Medical Device, or other regulated manufacturing industries will be preferred.
