1. Company Overview The company is engaged in the manufacturing of HVAC products and systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Air Control Products and Air Distribution Products. The Factory Manager / Head will be responsible for managing and driving the complete sheet metal manufacturing operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency and timely delivery.

2. Job Purpose To lead and manage the Sheet Metal Manufacturing Factory by effectively planning and controlling production, manpower, machinery, materials and processes, ensuring that products are manufactured as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and delivery schedules.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Factory & Production Management

- Overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of the sheet metal factory.
- Plan, organize and control production activities to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets.
- Ensure timely production of components and assemblies for:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Air Control Products
- Air Distribution Products
- HVAC sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective action for delays and bottlenecks.
- Improve factory productivity, capacity utilization and overall operational efficiency.
- Establish and monitor production KPIs for all manufacturing sections.

B. Sheet Metal Manufacturing Operations

Should have strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including:

- Sheet cutting and shearing
- CNC Laser / Plasma / Shearing operations
- CNC Punching
- Press Brake / CNC Bending
- Rolling and forming
- Welding and fabrication
- Grinding and finishing
- Riveting, fastening and assembly
- Insulation-related fabrication activities
- Powder coating / surface finishing coordination
- Final assembly and inspection

Ensure that manufacturing processes are carried out according to approved drawings, process specifications and work instructions.

C. Production Planning & Scheduling

- Coordinate with Design, Projects, Purchase, Stores and Sales teams for production requirements.
- Prepare production plans based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Plan machine loading and manpower allocation.
- Ensure availability of materials, drawings, tools and consumables before production starts.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure smooth movement of materials between processes.

Manpower Management

- Plan and allocate manpower across different production sections.
- Lead and supervise production supervisors, engineers, operators, welders, fitters and helpers.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available manpower.
- Identify training requirements and develop employee skills.
- Maintain discipline and a productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of production personnel.

E. Quality Control

- Ensure all products are manufactured according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality team to reduce rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Establish process controls and inspection checkpoints.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy, workmanship and finishing quality.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
- Promote a "Right First Time" manufacturing culture.

F. Material & Inventory Control

- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Optimize sheet metal consumption and minimize material wastage.
- Monitor scrap generation and identify opportunities for reduction.
- Ensure proper identification, storage and movement of raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
- Control usage of consumables such as welding materials, fasteners, abrasives and other production consumables.

G. Machine & Equipment Management

- Ensure maximum availability and utilization of production machinery.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of:
- Laser / Plasma / CNC machines
- CNC Punching machines
- Press Brakes
- Shearing machines
- Welding equipment
- Compressors and other factory equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdowns and minimize machine downtime.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of machines and tools.

H. Cost Reduction & Productivity Improvement

- Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Improve material utilization and reduce scrap.
- Reduce unnecessary movement, waiting time and rework.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Kaizen practices where applicable.
- Improve machine productivity and production cycle times.
- Develop standard operating methods for repetitive manufacturing activities.

I. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to factory safety procedures.




- Ensure employees use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain safe working conditions around cutting, bending, welding and material-handling operations.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S implementation.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address unsafe practices immediately.

J. Coordination with Other Departments

Ensure smooth coordination from drawing release → material availability → production → inspection → assembly → dispatch.

4. Required Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or equivalent.
- Additional qualifications in Production / Manufacturing Management will be an advantage.

5. Experience

- 10–15 years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication / HVAC manufacturing / engineering manufacturing.
- Candidates with experience in AHU, HVAC equipment, Air Control Products or Air Distribution Products manufacturing will be preferred.
- Should have hands-on experience managing a factory / production department and a sizeable shop-floor workforce.

Overall Accountability The Factory Manager / Head will have overall accountability for the performance of the Sheet Metal Manufacturing Factory, ensuring that the required products are manufactured with the right quality, quantity, cost and delivery while maintaining a safe, disciplined and productive working environment.

Core Objective:

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
