English Teacher (Grades 6 & 7 - CBSE)

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified English Teacher to teach students in Grades 6 and 7 following the CBSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, develop students' language and communication skills, and encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a love for literature.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening skills.
- Develop students' comprehension, analytical, and creative writing abilities.
- Use diverse teaching methodologies to cater to different learning styles.
- Encourage classroom discussions, presentations, debates, and literary activities.

Assessment and Evaluation

- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate assignments, projects, notebooks, and examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and academic performance.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

Classroom Management

- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.
- Maintain discipline and encourage positive student behaviour.
- Promote active participation and team-oriented learning.

Curriculum and Planning

- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly lesson plans.
- Develop worksheets, question papers, learning resources, and enrichment activities.
- Participate in curriculum review and academic planning meetings.

Student Development





- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where necessary.
- Encourage reading habits through library activities and literature appreciation.
- Guide students in co-curricular activities such as elocution, creative writing, debates, and drama.

Communication and Collaboration

- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, professional development programmes, and school events.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in English or related field.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognised institution.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and assessment patterns.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Experience

- Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school preferred.
- Experience teaching middle school students (Grades 6-8) is desirable.
