Engineer- Product Engineering- DGBB - SKF Automotive Business

Role Purpose

- Own design, development, validation and industrialization of automotive driveline products

from concept to SOP.
- Act as technical owner for assigned products ensuring performance, quality, cost,

manufacturability and timing targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, sales, manufacturing, quality, and global engineering

teams.

Responsibility Allocation

- Product Design Engineering - 50%
- Product Development & Industrialization - 30%
- Innovation, Research & Continuous Improvement - 20%

Product Design Engineerin****g

- Design and develop DGBB, TRB, CRB, NRB, Clutch Release Bearings, Clutch Bearing Units,

Sensor Bearings, Mechatronic Products for EV & Driveline Solutions.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models using Creo.
- Generate and release drawings, specifications, BOMs, and engineering documents through

Windchill.
- Perform GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering calculations.
- Apply DFM, DFA, Design for Cost, Design for Performance and Design for Reliability

principles.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain design documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and technical risk assessments.

Application Engineering &Technical Understanding

- Understand engine and transmission systems, differential systems, e-axles, e-motors, clutch

systems, and wheel-end applications.
- Understand load paths, bearing reaction loads, preload, clearance, lubrication, NVH, and

thermal effects.
- Analyze product behavior from component level to vehicle system level.
- Support customer application studies and technical discussions.

Engineering Analysis & Validation

- Perform bearing life calculations, contact analysis,, and tolerance studies.
- Support FEA, durability, thermal,, and NVH analysis activities.
- Interpret ANSYS results and develop engineering recommendations.
- Awareness of KISSsoft, MASTA and Romax or other bearing & transmission analysis

application.




- Review test reports and correlate simulation with physical testing.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Product Developme*nt & Industrializatio*n

- Support RFQ and customer development programs.
- Develop concepts, prototype releases, and validation plans.
- Drive APQP deliverables and support PPAP submissions.
- Monitor engineering time plans, actions, risks, and deliverables.
- Support production launch readiness and industrialization reviews.

Quality & Risk Management

- Lead the DFMEA & DVP activities.
- Support PFMEA linkage and DRBFM methodology.
- Maintain technical risk registers and lessons in in learned databases.
- Apply APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans and 8D methodologies.
- Participate in customer, supplier,, and internal audits.
- Support IATF 16949 compliance and continuous improvement activities.

Supplier & Manufacturing Collaboration

- Participate in supplier technical reviews and capability assessments.
- Conduct manufacturing design reviews and feasibility evaluations.
- Support prototype builds, process improvements, and launch activities.
- Work with factories to resolve technical issues and improve product robustness.

Innovation & Research

- Drive New development of smart bearings & applicable products for EV & ICE technologies.
- Perform benchmarking studies and technology scouting.
- Apply Weibull analysis and reliability engineering principles.
- Support patents, invention disclosures, and proof-of-concept development.
- Contribute continuous improvement and innovation initiatives and participate in Technology

seminars.

Technical S****kills

- Proficient: Creo, Windchill.
- Working Knowledge: ANSYS or other FEA softwares.
- Awareness / Basic Working Knowledge: KISSsoft, MASTA, Romax.
- Robust understanding of bearing design, tribology, metallurgy, manufacturing, Sheetmetal,

polymer, physics & mechanical principals, reliability engineering and automotive driveline systems.

Language Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Knowledge of Japanese, German or French is preferred.
- Ability to prepare technical reports,



presentations, and customer communication.
