We are looking for a skilled Electrical Designer to lead control panel design, switchgear selection, and hands-on site integration aligned with automotive OEM standards.
This role is ideal for engineers who excel at designing control panels using EPLAN Electric P8 & AutoCAD Electrical, preparing component BOMs, designing power/control circuits, interfacing panels with Mitsubishi PLCs and VFDs, and supervising site commissioning.
Location: Delhi NCR
Work Mode: 100% On-Site (No hybrid/remote option). A dynamic mix of office-based CAD design and hands-on site deployment across automotive and manufacturing client facilities.
Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Design & Panel Engineering (Primary Focus)
- Draft schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), power distribution circuits, and wiring layouts using EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD Electrical following automotive industry standards, color coding, and tagging conventions.
- Select approved switchgear, safety relays, protective devices, cables, and enclosures to prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Calculate load requirements, cable sizing, breaker ratings, and panel thermal management.
- Ensure all panel designs conform to international machinery and safety standards (IEC 60204-1, IEC 61439, NFPA 79).
2. Automation Interfacing & Factory Testing
- Interface electrical panel designs with PLC I/O modules (focus on Mitsubishi MELSEC Q / iQ-R Series), VFDs, multi-axis servo drives, and industrial networks (CC-Link, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
- Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT), wire label verifications, and hardware continuity audits on control panels prior to site dispatch.
- Coordinate with automation programmers to ensure panel layouts support automated body shop, paint shop, assembly line, or conveyor-to-conveyor systems.
3. Field Supervision & Execution
- Direct and supervise technicians and contractor teams during on-site panel installation, wire terminations, shutdowns, and commissioning.
- Enforce Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols, plant-specific automotive safety rules, and OEM safety guidelines during field activities.
- Perform systematic root-cause analysis for electrical control failure, hardware faults, and panel wiring issues.
- Coordinate with internal project managers and clients to update final as-built drawings based on field modifications.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in electrical schematic drafting, panel design, and field wiring supervision within automotive manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
- Core Requirement: Direct proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 / AutoCAD Electrical and strong working knowledge of automotive OEM electrical design specifications and panel standards.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of motor drives (VFDs/Servos), safety circuits, LV switchgear, cable calculations, panel layouts, and industrial network wiring.
- Work Style: Enthusiastic about full time on-site engagement, seamlessly shifting between structured CAD design in the office and active field execution across Delhi NCR.
