Job Summary

Centillion Networks Pvt. Ltd., an Osmose Company, is looking for an experienced Electrical Distribution Design Engineer to support utility engineering and electrical distribution network projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in LV/MV electrical distribution design, overhead and underground utility networks, electrical calculations, CAD-based engineering drawings, and utility infrastructure design. Experience working on Australian or U.S. utility distribution projects will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop LV/MV electrical distribution networks for utility and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed electrical, pole-line, construction, and utility network drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or equivalent CAD tools.
- Perform engineering calculations including:

- Load calculations
- Voltage-drop calculations

- Conductor and cable sizing

- Transformer sizing

- Equipment sizing and selection
- Design and develop overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, including feeders, transformers, poles, cables, and associated equipment.
- Review and interpret survey data, GIS data, utility plans, and field information to develop accurate network layouts.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, construction drawings, design packages, BOMs, and material schedules.
- Support pole loading, make-ready, joint-use, and utility infrastructure engineering activities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian Standards, utility standards, and engineering practices.
- Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 7000 is preferred.
- Familiarity with U.S. standards such as NESC and NEC will be an added advantage.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Survey Teams, Field Engineers, Design Teams, and Utility Clients.




- Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Support project teams in resolving design and technical issues.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and ensure deliverables are completed within project timelines.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in electrical distribution design or utility engineering.
- Strong understanding of MV/LV electrical distribution systems.
- Hands-on experience with overhead electrical distribution networks is preferred.
- Good knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, utility infrastructure, feeders, transformers, conductors, cables, and poles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, utility plans, survey data, and GIS information.
- Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and utility distribution design practices.
- Good analytical, engineering, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare high-quality engineering documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Australian utility distribution projects.
- Experience with U.S. utility distribution projects.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 7000.
- Knowledge of NESC / NEC.
- Experience with MicroStation.
- Experience with GIS-based utility network design.
- Experience with PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE.
- Experience in pole loading, joint-use, make-ready, and pole-line design.
