Job Title - Deputy General Manager - Horticulture
Location - Pune

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on horticulture professional to lead large-scale horticulture and landscape operations across our developments. The role will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining landscaped areas, plantations, nurseries, green spaces, and horticulture assets while ensuring high standards of plant health, aesthetics, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in large-scale real estate, township, landscape, hospitality, airport, institutional, or similar environments, with proven expertise in horticulture operations, project execution, irrigation, plant health, budgeting, vendor management, and team leadership.
Roles & Responsibilities -
- Lead the planning, development, and maintenance of large-scale horticulture and landscape areas across projects
- Develop and implement horticulture strategies covering plantation, landscaping, nursery management, irrigation, plant health, and long-term landscape maintenance
- Oversee planting, transplantation, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, turf management, pest and disease control, and other horticultural activities
- Coordinate with landscape architects, consultants, project teams, contractors, vendors,
and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and quality execution of landscape projects
- Manage horticulture teams, contractors, and manpower while driving performance through defined standards, SOPs, MIS, and regular reviews
- Prepare and manage annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets for horticulture and landscape development and maintenance
- Manage BOQs, estimates, technical specifications, tendering, procurement, vendor evaluation, billing, and cost control for horticulture works
- Drive efficient irrigation and water-management practices while promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible horticulture practices
- Oversee nursery operations, plant procurement, propagation, plant inventory, and replacement planning to ensure availability of quality planting material
- Monitor plant health, mortality, soil conditions, nutrient requirements, pest and disease management, and overall landscape quality
- Support tree transplantation, plantation drives, green-cover enhancement, and other environmental initiatives across projects
- Prepare periodic MIS and management reports covering project progress, budgets, plant health, manpower, contractor performance, and operational KPIs.
Must-Have Skills -
- Strong expertise in large-scale Horticulture and Landscape Management
- Experience in managing horticulture operations across large residential developments, townships, campuses, airports, hospitality projects, or similar environments
- Solid knowledge of plant health, soil management, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest and disease management, and plantation practices
- Experience in managing large horticulture teams, contractors, vendors, and multiple stakeholders
- Strong experience in CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, cost control, BOQs, tendering, procurement, and vendor management
- Strong project planning and execution capabilities with the ability to manage multiple horticulture initiatives simultaneously
- Knowledge of nursery management, plant propagation, tree transplantation, and sustainable landscaping practices
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills -
- Experience with large-scale township or integrated real estate developments
- Experience in managing multiple large-scale projects.
- Exposure to golf courses, large parks, resorts, institutional campuses, industrial landscapes, or similar large landscaped environments
- Experience in tree transplantation, mature tree management, and large-scale plantation initiatives
- Exposure to automated irrigation systems and water conservation practices
- Experience in developing horticulture SOPs, MIS frameworks, and performance metrics
- Strong understanding of landscape design coordination and technical evaluation of landscape proposals
Educational Background -
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or a related discipline
- Graduate/Postgraduate qualification from an AICTE-approved and/or UGC-recognized institution
