Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Postgre SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, migration, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing and maintaining Postgre SQL databases, database clustering, hardening, patching, migrations, performance optimization, and automation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure database availability, reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, and administer Postgre SQL databases across development, test, and production environments. Ensure database availability, performance, integrity, and security. Design and implement database architectures and database systems based on business and application requirements. Perform database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization. Monitor database health, performance metrics, capacity, and resource utilization. Configure and manage Postgre SQL database clusters. Perform database hardening, patching, upgrades, and maintenance. Plan and execute database migrations, including migration to the latest supported Postgre SQL versions. Configure and manage Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW) and related database integrations. Implement and maintain database replication and high-availability solutions. Develop and maintain database maintenance jobs, scripts, and automation tools. Manage database users, roles, privileges, and access controls. Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes. Develop and execute disaster recovery (DR) strategies and procedures. Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely solutions. Collaborate with development, Dev Ops, infrastructure, and operations teams to support application and database requirements. Maintain database documentation, standards, procedures, and operational runbooks.



Ensure databases comply with applicable security and data protection requirements. Conduct database capacity planning and proactively identify potential performance or resource issues. Support database upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and production deployments. Stay current with Postgre SQL features, database technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

4–6 years of hands-on experience as a Postgre SQL Database Administrator. Strong experience in Postgre SQL database administration and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with database hardening and patching – Must Have.

Experience in Postgre SQL cluster setup and configuration – Must Have. Strong knowledge of Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW) – Must Have. Hands-on experience with database migration, including Postgre SQL version upgrades/migrations – Must Have.

Experience with database maintenance jobs and automation – Must Have. Strong experience in database user and access management – Must Have. Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization – Must Have.

Experience with Postgre SQL replication and high availability – Good to Have. Good understanding of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts. Strong SQL and database scripting skills. Ability to analyze database issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Valuable communication and collaboration skills. Key Skills

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates who have strong hands-on experience managing enterprise Postgre SQL environments, including production troubleshooting, clustering, migrations, security hardening, performance optimization, and database automation, will be preferred.
