Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller (8–12 Years) with deep domain expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C;) Insurance and the London Market (Lloyd’s of London). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical data models across core insurance subject areas—including Policy, Claims, Billing, Underwriting, and Reinsurance—to power modern data warehouses and analytical reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Data Modelling: Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models (3NF, ER modelling) aligned with industry standard insurance canonical models.
- Dimensional Design: Build high-performance dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas), conformed dimensions, and aggregate fact tables tailored for business intelligence and regulatory reporting.
- Core Insurance Lifecycle Alignment: Architect end-to-end data pipelines and mapping structures covering Policy Administration, Underwriting, Claims Adjudication, Billing, and Accounting workflows.
- Lloyd's & London Market Integration: Translate specialized Lloyd's market constructs—such as Bordereaux processing (premiums and claims), Managing General Agents (MGAs), syndicate structures, and broker transactions—into robust data frameworks.
- Data Mapping & Source-to-Target Specifications: Define comprehensive source-to-target data mappings, transformation business rules, relationship cardinalities, and lineage documentation.
- Business & SME Collaboration: Partner directly with underwriters, claims specialists, actuarial teams,
and business analysts to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical data architectures.
- Governance & Data Standardization: Collaborate with data governance teams to enforce standard business glossaries, enterprise data dictionaries, naming conventions, and data quality rules.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 8 to 12 years of core hands-on data modelling experience within enterprise data warehouse environments.
- Domain Expertise: In-depth functional knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C;) Insurance core domains: Policy, Claims, Billing, and Underwriting.
- London Market Knowledge: Practical exposure to the Lloyd’s Market ecosystem, London market messaging standards, and market operations.
- Modelling Methodologies: Deep proficiency in Entity-Relationship (ER) modelling, relational modelling (3NF), dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology), and canonical schema creation.
- Technical Skills: Advanced SQL capabilities for complex data querying, schema profiling, performance tuning, and source analysis.
- Modelling Tools: Proven experience with enterprise data modelling tools (e.g., Erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or Hackolade).
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Reinsurance & Exposure: Experience handling Treaty, Facultative, and Reinsurance accounting data structures.
- Delegated Authority & Bordereaux: Working knowledge of MGA, TPA, and Lloyd's delegated authority processing, including Bordereaux ingestion and validation rules.
- Cloud Up-to-date Data Platforms: Hands-on exposure to modern cloud data warehouses and lakehouse architectures such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Insurance Standards: Familiarity with industry reference models like ACORD or standard insurance data frameworks
