Job Summary The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing all costing and inventory-related activities. This role ensures the availability of food, beverages, packaging materials, and operational supplies while maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
The Cost
Accountant works closely with the kitchen, purchasing, and restaurant management teams to ensure seamless operations and efficient inventory management and costing.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Cost Management
Monitor inventory consumption and identify variances.
Analyze food and beverage costs and recommend corrective actions.
Minimize wastage, spoilage, theft, and overstocking.
Track inventory turnover and optimize stock levels.
Inventory Management
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for food, beverages, consumables, and restaurant supplies.
Conduct weekly and monthly stock counts and audits.
Ensure accurate recording of stock movements, transfers, and adjustments.
Maintain inventory records in the restaurant management system.
Procurement Coordination
Coordinate with approved suppliers for timely replenishment of stock.
Raise purchase requisitions based on inventory requirements.
Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
Maintain supplier records and assist in vendor evaluations.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare inventory reports, stock variance reports, and consumption analysis.
Provide regular updates to management on inventory status and cost trends.
Support internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in any field.
2–8 years of experience in cost accounting.
Required Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Robust understanding of cost control and operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
