Key ResponsibilitiesProgramming and Setup

- Write, load, and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software or G-code.
- Set up cutting beds, alignment fixtures, lenses, and raw sheet materials.
- Adjust machine parameters like laser power, speed, focus, and feed rates for specific materials.

Operation and Monitoring
- Run test cuts and verify the first-piece accuracy against engineering drawings.
- Monitor the machine during operation to catch errors, jams, or material shifts early.
- Load and unload materials safely using manual methods or lifting equipment.

Quality and Maintenance
- Measure finished parts using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance, clean optics/nozzles, and explicit scrap debris.
- Report mechanical defects or faulty raw stock to the supervisor immediately
- Requirements and QualificationsEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.Skills and Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and vector design files.
- Software/Math: Basic computer literacy, shop math skills, and understanding of G-code.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy raw materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Safety Focus:



Strict adherence to workshop safety gear, laser safety rules, and fire prevention protocols.
- Technical or vocational training in machining, fabrication, or CAD/CAM programming (preferred).
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on shop floor experience operating laser or CNC machinery.

- Documentation:Keeping records of machine operation, material usage, and any issues encountered.
- Training:May be involved in training new operators or apprentices on the operation of the CNC router.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- CNC Machine Operation: Knowledge of CNC machine functions, software, and programming.
- Material Handling: Understanding of different materials and their properties.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical principles.
- Precision and Accuracy: Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
