Key Roles & Responsibilities of a Nurse Educator
- Training & Education
- Conduct induction and orientation programs for new nurses.
- Provide regular training on nursing procedures, protocols, and clinical practices.
- Conduct classroom, practical, and bedside training.
- Clinical Skill Development
- Assess nurses’ clinical skills and identify training needs.
- Conduct demonstrations and competency assessments.
- Train staff on procedures such as IV administration, catheterization, infection control, emergency care, etc.
- Patient Safety & Quality
- Ensure nurses follow hospital policies, SOPs, and clinical guidelines.
- Promote patient safety and infection-control practices.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and reduce clinical errors.
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct tests, skill assessments, and competency evaluations.
- Maintain training and competency records.
- Provide feedback and corrective training where required.
- Continuous Learning
- Organize workshops, seminars, case discussions, and continuing education programs.
- Keep nursing staff updated with new clinical practices and guidelines.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain training calendars, attendance records, competency checklists, and assessment reports.
- Prepare regular training reports for management/Nursing Head.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with Nursing Heads, HODs, Infection Control, Quality, and HR teams.
- Identify department-wise training requirements.
- Mentoring & Support
- Guide junior nurses and newly joined staff.
- Support nurses in improving their clinical knowledge, confidence, and qualified skills.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
