Role Description This is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru South for a Clinical Investigator – Certified Medical Coder. The role involves reviewing clinical documentation and health records to ensure accurate, compliant medical coding aligned with ICD-10 and other applicable standards.
The Clinical
Investigator will analyze claims and clinical data to identify coding discrepancies, potential fraud, waste, or abuse, and will support investigation and resolution processes. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and operational teams, conducting focused research on medical conditions and procedures, and supporting clinical trial-related documentation review when required.
The role also includes preparing clear summaries and reports of findings, recommending corrective actions, and contributing to continuous improvement of coding quality and compliance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in Medical Coding and ICD-10, with relevant certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medicine and clinical concepts to accurately interpret clinical documentation.
- Candidates should possess Research skills to analyze clinical data, claims, and documentation for patterns, discrepancies, and insights.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with Clinical Trials processes and documentation, including protocols and regulatory considerations.
- Additional qualifications: experience in clinical investigations or audit, understanding of healthcare compliance and regulations, strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, and proficiency with coding and claims systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and proficiency in standard office and data tools.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in a health sciences, medicine, nursing, or related field preferred; prior experience in medical coding or clinical review roles is highly beneficial.
