We are looking for Civil Estimation Engineers – Intern to join our team in Trivandrum. This position is suitable for candidates who have recently completed a Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering and are interested in developing their career in Quantity Estimation, Costing, BOQ Preparation, Tendering, and Civil Project Management.
The selected candidate will receive practical exposure to real-world construction projects and will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or
- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering
- Fresh graduates and candidates with no prior experience are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates awaiting final results may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed quantity estimates for civil construction works.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings and project requirements.
- Assist in quantity take-off from architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
- Study drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Assist in preparing rate analysis and cost estimates.
- Support the preparation of tender documents and contractor quotations.
- Collect and compare material and labour rates.
- Assist senior engineers in checking quantities and estimates.
- Maintain estimation sheets and project-related records.
- Coordinate with the design and project teams for clarification of quantities.
- Assist in preparing comparative statements for quotations received from vendors/contractors.
- Learn and apply standard methods of measurement and estimation.
- Perform other estimation-related tasks assigned by the senior engineer.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering concepts.
- Basic understanding of quantity surveying and estimation.
- Ability to read and understand civil/architectural drawings.
- Basic knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity take-off.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
