Role purpose:

The Senior Manager will establish and manage the complete measurement, reporting and verification system for the organisation's biogas, compressed biogas and biomethane projects. The role covers project eligibility, methodology selection, monitoring design, emissions calculations, audit preparation, third-party validation and verification support, credit issuance, registry control and transaction documentation. The position combines process understanding, greenhouse gas accounting, data governance and stakeholder management.

Its central responsibility is to ensure that every carbon credit claim is conservative, traceable to primary evidence and capable of withstanding independent review.

Key responsibilities

- Assess biogas and CBG projects for eligibility under the Indian Carbon Market, Verra, Gold Standard and other approved programmes; select the applicable methodology, tools, baseline and crediting approach. • Prepare or supervise Project Design Documents, monitoring plans, additionality assessments, project boundaries, stakeholder records and safeguards documentation. • Develop auditable carbon models covering baseline methane, captured and utilised gas, CBG production, fossil-fuel displacement, electricity and fuel use, transport, leakage, methane slip, flaring, digestate and other eligible co-products. • Define each monitored parameter, meter or sampling point, frequency, accuracy, calibration requirement, data owner, evidence source and missing-data procedure. • Build the MRV control framework across plant instruments, PLC or SCADA records, weighbridges, laboratories, invoices, dispatch records, customer confirmations and finance systems.

• Review monthly data quality and reconcile operating data with commercial records; investigate gaps, abnormal results, expired calibration and unexplained differences. • Prepare monitoring reports, emission-reduction statements and complete evidence packs for independent validation and verification. • Manage VVB selection, audits, site visits and closure of clarification, corrective-action and forward-action requests.

Principal emissions and evidence areas:

Feedstock quantity and characteristics raw biogas flow and composition; methane recovered; product purity and quantity; reject gas and fugitive methane; flare operation; grid electricity; fossil fuels; CBG compression, dispatch and end use; pipeline injection; digestate and fertilizer; BioCO2 and biochar where eligible.

Certification issuance and registry responsibilities

- Submit and track project listing, registration, validation, monitoring, verification and issuance requirements through the selected programme. • Ensure that estimated reductions are not described as issued credits before approval and serialisation by the relevant registry. • Administer registry accounts, permissions, KYC documents, issuance requests, fees, serial numbers, transfers, retirements and supporting records. • Maintain a reconciled carbon asset ledger by project, methodology, monitoring period, vintage, status and registry serial range. • Prevent double counting, double issuance or incompatible monetisation of carbon credits, renewable gas attributes,

renewable energy certificates and related environmental claims. • Support credit sales and due diligence by providing verified availability forecasts, project information packs and evidence of title, ownership and delivery status. • Monitor changes to standards, methodologies and Indian carbon-market requirements and coordinate timely changes to project documents and MRV procedures.

Qualifications and experience • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental, chemical, energy or process engineering, biotechnology, environmental science, climate science or a related discipline.

- Strong working knowledge of project-level greenhouse gas accounting, ISO 14064, carbon-credit methodologies, monitoring plans and assurance processes.
- Experience preparing or reviewing Project Design Documents, monitoring reports, calculation workbooks and responses to third-party auditors.
- Experience taking at least one carbon project through registration, verification or credit issuance is strongly preferred.
- Practical exposure to anaerobic digestion, CBG, biomethane, wastewater, organic waste, methane recovery or renewable-energy projects is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel and data-analysis capability; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, digital MRV systems, GIS or process historians is advantageous.

What success looks like • Complete, accurate and timely MRV data with a transparent trail to original evidence. • Carbon-critical instruments calibrated within schedule and data gaps addressed conservatively. • Few material audit findings and timely closure of VVB and programme queries. • Strong alignment between forecast, claimed, verified and issued credit volumes. • Timely registration and issuance submissions with accurate registry and credit-inventory records.
