We are looking for a skilled and responsible Automobile Technician to join our service/workshop team. The technician will be responsible for vehicle inspection, diagnosis, servicing, repair and maintenance while ensuring quality work and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical and technical issues.
- Diagnose vehicle problems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform regular servicing and preventive maintenance of vehicles.
- Carry out repairs related to engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering and other mechanical systems.
- Check and repair basic electrical and electronic systems of vehicles.
- Perform oil changes, filter replacement, brake servicing and other routine maintenance.
- Use diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment as required.
- Identify faulty parts and report the same to the Service Advisor/Supervisor.
- Replace or repair defective components as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure vehicles are repaired within the given time and quality standards.
- Conduct vehicle testing after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the workshop.
- Follow company and manufacturer safety procedures.
- Maintain proper records of work carried out and parts used.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors and other workshop team members.
- Ensure customer vehicles are handled carefully and professionally.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of automobile mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of automobile electrical and electronic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Attention to detail and quality of work.
- Good time management.
- Willingness to learn new automobile technologies.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 1–5 years of experience as an Automobile Technician preferred.
- Experience in an automobile dealership/service centre will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in passenger cars/commercial vehicles may be considered depending on the requirement.
