- We're one of the largest retailers of home interior goods in Bangalore, working with over 100+ top designers and architects.
- We are now at a Rs 100cr+ annualised revenue run rate, growing rapid and building out the leadership layer to match.
Note from the Founders on the role Hi, I'm Sarthak, Co-founder of Material Depot. Our products are heavy, often fragile, and move through our warehouses in large volumes every single day - and the warehouse is where a lot of our promises to customers either get kept or broken. Stock has to be accurate, put-away and picking have to be fast, and outbound has to be ready to hand off cleanly to last-mile.
I'm looking for someone who can run this floor day-to-day with real discipline - inventory accuracy, team productivity, safety, and process - so the rest of the supply chain can rely on the warehouse working exactly as it should, every day.
Interview process
- Small assignment
- Three interview rounds with Sahith and team
What you will do
- Own day-to-day warehouse operations - inbound receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and resolving discrepancies between system and physical stock
- Plan and supervise daily manpower deployment across warehouse shifts, and manage attendance, productivity, and training of warehouse staff
- Coordinate closely with procurement/first-mile teams on inbound schedules, and with the last-mile/transportation team on outbound readiness and dispatch timelines
- Optimize warehouse layout, racking, and storage utilization to improve space efficiency and reduce pick/put-away time
- Maintain quality control at goods-in and goods-out - checking for damage, correct SKU/quantity, and documentation accuracy
- Enforce safety standards and SOPs on the warehouse floor, including material handling, equipment use, and housekeeping
- Use WMS/inventory systems and dashboards to track key metrics - inventory accuracy, order fill rate,
dispatch TAT, and productivity per worker
- Manage warehouse costs - manpower, equipment, packaging material, and damages/shrinkage - and identify opportunities to reduce them
- Handle escalations related to stock-outs, damaged goods, wrong dispatches, or delayed handoffs, working cross-functionally to resolve them fast
- Build and continuously improve SOPs for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch as the warehouse scales
You're a good fit for this only if…
- 6+ years in warehouse operations, inventory management, or fulfillment center operations
- Hands-on experience supervising warehouse staff and managing daily floor operations, not just monitoring reports from a desk
- You've worked with inventory/WMS systems and are comfortable using data to track accuracy, productivity, and TAT
- Experience handling fragile, bulky, or high-value inventory is a strong plus
- You're comfortable being on the warehouse floor daily - this isn't a purely administrative role
- You understand safety and compliance basics for a warehouse environment, and enforce them without being asked
- Experience in e-commerce, building materials, furniture, retail, or another operationally intensive business is preferred
- Strong ownership mindset - you take stock discrepancies and dispatch delays personally and fix the root cause, not just the symptom
- You're comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, including peak periods and tight deadlines
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
Benefits
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Paid sick time
- Provident Fund
Work Location: In person
