Job Title
Advanced Scaffolder / Senior Scaffolder
Responsible for safely erecting, modifying, inspecting, and dismantling complex and high-level scaffolding systems in accordance with approved drawings, engineering requirements, project specifications, and applicable HSE standards. The Advanced Scaffolder also provides technical guidance to scaffolding crews and supports the Scaffolding Supervisor in planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Erect, modify, dismantle, and inspect scaffolding structures safely and efficiently.
- Work on complex scaffolding configurations, including high-rise, suspended, cantilever, birdcage, access, stair tower, and other specialized scaffolding systems where trained and authorized.
- Interpret and work from approved scaffolding drawings, sketches, layouts, and specifications.
- Select appropriate scaffold components, fittings, boards, platforms, braces, ties, access systems, and other materials.
- Ensure scaffolding is properly braced, tied, supported, levelled, and secured.
- Install safe access and egress systems, including ladders, stair towers, platforms, guardrails, and toe boards.
- Carry out pre-use checks and report defects or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure scaffolding is not used until it has been inspected and released by the authorized competent person, where required by site procedures.
- Perform scaffold modifications only when authorized and ensure changes maintain structural integrity.
- Work safely at height while following approved fall-protection requirements.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, JSA/JHA, and pre-job safety meetings.
- Identify hazards associated with scaffolding activities and implement appropriate control measures.
- Guide and mentor junior scaffolders and scaffold helpers.
- Lead small scaffolding crews when assigned by the supervisor.
- Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, construction teams, and other trades to ensure scaffolding is available when required.
- Ensure scaffold materials are handled, stacked, transported, and stored safely.
- Maintain good housekeeping around scaffolding work areas.
- Assist supervisors with manpower planning, material requirements, and daily work planning.
- Report damaged, missing, or unsuitable scaffolding components.
- Stop work and immediately report any unsafe scaffolding condition or activity.
- Follow company HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and project-specific scaffolding standards.
Advanced Technical Competencies An Advanced Scaffolder should be competent in:
- Tube-and-fitting scaffolding
- System scaffolding
- Cuplock/Quickstage or equivalent systems
- Access scaffolds
- Stair towers
- Birdcage scaffolds
- Cantilever scaffolds
- Heavy-duty working platforms
- High-level scaffolding
- Scaffold ties and bracing arrangements
- Scaffold loading requirements
- Safe access and egress
- Scaffold tagging and inspection systems
- Fall protection and work-at-height controls
- Basic understanding of scaffold stability and load distribution
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognized scaffolder qualification/certification appropriate to the project and jurisdiction.
- Typically 5+ years of scaffolding experience, preferably with experience on major industrial or construction projects.
- Experience with complex scaffolding installations is highly desirable.
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power plants, refineries, infrastructure, or large-scale construction is an advantage.
- Ability to understand scaffolding drawings and instructions.
- Physically fit and capable of working at height.
- Good understanding of site HSE requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.

Performance Expectations The Advanced Scaffolder is expected to:
- Complete scaffolding activities safely and according to schedule.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Follow approved scaffold designs and site procedures.
- Prevent unauthorized scaffold modifications.
- Maintain zero tolerance for unsafe working-at-height practices.
- Support supervisors in maintaining productivity and safety.
- Provide guidance to less-experienced scaffolders.
Significant: The exact competency level and permitted scaffold types should be matched to the individual's certification and the requirements of the project/site. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
